Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent melting breakage of a battery case by preliminarily inserting a safety tube inside of a solid electrytic tube, finally baking it to form one body, thereby reducing a gap width between the safety tube and the solid electrytic tube. CONSTITUTION:A safety tube 3 and a mesh 2 incorporated inside a solid electrytic tube 1 to form one body, while this solid electrytic tube 1 is used as a partition wall, on which inside an anode active material, sodium 7 is sealed while on which outside a cathode active material 8 of sulfur or sodium polysulfide is seald by means of an anode container 4 and a cathode container 5. It is thus possible to restrain temperature increase of the safety tube 3 caused by a reaction product of sodium with sulfur to 100 deg.C even if the electrytic tube 1 is wholly damaged, by setting the width of the safety tube 3 to 1mm, and thereby to prevent melting damage of a battery case.
