Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely and automatically insert and grip a profile in one motion by stopping and setting the profile opening of a collet chuck with the use of a rotational angle position stopping function so that the profile opening coincides with the cross-sectional posture of the profile on a material supply pass in an automatic material feeder. CONSTITUTION:A spindle slidably but unrotatably receives a collet chuck 24 in combination of pins 23P, 1P and elongated grooves 24m, 3m. A profile is fed into the spindle through a guide pipe having its base end gripped by a finger chuck, and is stopped at a rotational angle position where a profile posture of an opening 24a becomes identical with the cross-sec tional posture of the profile. Accordingly, the profile projects from the opening 24 with no hindrance, and abuts against a guide surface of a rotary bushing. The guide bushing is manu ally rotated so as to be adjusted to the cross-sectional posture of the profile only upon initia tion of operation, and accordingly, the profile is made to pass therethrough and to project therefrom. The profile is gripped by the collet chuck 24 by the motion of a shifter 6, and is cut in association with the rotation of the spindle. When the profile becomes a remainder material, the shifter 6 is retracted, and a sleeve 23 is also retracted by the restoring force of a spring 5, and therefore, the opening 24a is enlarged so that the remainder material is released from its gripped condition.
