Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body freed of variance and high in sensitivity by satisfying a specified relationship between light source wavelength and the thickness of a barrier layer. CONSTITUTION:The barrier layer formed between a conductive substrate and an electric charge generating layer has a film thickness represented by the optical thickness simultaneously satisfying both of formulae I and II in which nd is the optical thickness (mum), lambda is the light source wavelength (mum), (m) is an integer of 0-50, and x is as follows; 0<=x<=0.5. As the laminate type photosensitive body, the usual ones can be applied, and especially, the ones obtained by successively laminating the barrier layer, the charge generating layer, a charge transfer layer in this order can be used, thus permitting the function of the charge generating layer to be exhibited to the utmost by specifying the thickness of the barrier layer, and the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and free from variance.
