Even if an attempt was made to mechanize and automate the filter installation work, filter installation machines that require a mating function would be expensive;
Furthermore, since it is difficult to increase the speed, it is difficult to apply in reality.

When a high melting point metal molten metal such as cast iron or cast steel is used as the casting metal, it is preferable that the glass fiber has an SiO2 content of 75% by weight or more and has been previously fired and shrunk. This condition was clarified by the present inventor in Japanese Patent Application No. 60-235032, and is applicable to all types of molten cast iron (casting temperature 1200 to 1450'c) with a 5iO7 content of 75% or more. Also, using a filter that has been pre-fired and shrunk is effective in preventing casting defects such as sand pits caused by the casting sand at the filter attachment part being scraped into the molten metal due to shrinkage of the filter when the molten metal passes through. This is because it can be prevented.
