[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention relates to a connector that integrates a conductive member made of metal or rubber into an insulating rubber, and is particularly applicable to connectors in which electrodes are arranged in multiple steps in a step-like manner, such as in multilayer liquid crystal cells. It relates to a multilayer connector that connects objects and electrodes on a circuit board.

In view of the above points, the present invention aims to provide a multilayer connector that integrates connectors, is easy to assemble, and has a reliable electrical connection. This is used for connecting multilayer liquid crystal cells 4 as shown in FIG. In this multilayer liquid crystal cell 4, the side portions of each panel protrude in a stepwise manner, and electrodes 4a as shown in FIG. 2 are formed on the lower surface thereof. As shown in FIG. 8, the connector 5 has conductive members 5b made of rubber material arranged in multiple layers within a block of insulating rubber 5a, and the exposed portions of the conductive members 5b correspond to the electrodes 4a. . The electrode contact surface 5c to which the conductive member 5b is exposed forms an inclined surface 5c having an inclination angle approximately equal to the stepped inclination angle of the end of the multilayer liquid crystal cell 4, and is spaced between the electrode contact surface 5c and the circuit board 3. They are brought into elastic contact as shown in FIG. Therefore, since the edge having the electrode 4a of the multilayer liquid crystal cell 4 is pressed into contact with the inclined surface 5c so as to bite into it, the contact between the conductive member 5b and the electrode 4a is reliable, and when the edge is bitten, the connector 5 and Lateral displacement of the multilayer liquid crystal cell 4 is also less likely to occur.

Further, the connector 5 can be easily obtained by alternately cutting a columnar connector material as shown in FIG. 9, in which conductive members 5b are arranged in multiple layers, along a horizontal plane indicated by A and an inclined plane indicated by B. It is something.

The present invention is as described above, and since the conductive member is arranged in multiple layers inside the insulating rubber and integrated, the number of parts is small, and it can be connected to parts with stepped electrodes such as multilayer liquid crystal cells. The assembly process is simple and accurate, and the edges of the liquid crystal cell etc. bite into the connector, ensuring a reliable electrical connection.Furthermore, it is possible to continuously cut horizontal and slanted cuts on columnar connector materials. This has the effect that it can be easily produced in large quantities by repeating the process.
