Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain reading with constant sensitivity by detecting the temperature of a radiating light source, calculating the luminous quantity change by a table and correcting the amplification factor of an input amplifier. CONSTITUTION:White level correction data outputted from a CCD sensor 1 is fetched into a RAM 5. The data with the maximum level is searched and decided whether or not the value is equal to a predetermined value and the amplification factor of the amplifier 2 is corrected based on the discrimination output to read again the white level and the output in this case is fetched in a RAM 5. The operation above is repeated and when the maximum level reaches a predetermined value, the temperature of a fluorescent light 8 at that time is detected by a sensor 7 and stored. Then the temperature is checked by the sensor 7 for each scanning at original read and when the temperature change over the set value is detected, the amplification factor of the amplifier 2 is changed according to the table 9.

(Technical Field) The present invention relates to an image reading device that uses an image sensor such as an image scanner (CCD) to read a document exposed to light by a light emitting source. (Prior Art) Conventionally, this type of apparatus uses a light source for exposing documents, such as a smoke lamp, but the amount of light from the light source changes depending on the environmental temperature, time, etc. For this reason, a configuration is adopted in which the white level is read before reading the document, and the image reading signal is corrected based on that value. However, with long reading times, the amount of light changes during reading, making accurate reading impossible. (Objective) The present invention provides an image reading device that eliminates the drawbacks of the above-mentioned conventional example and at the same time enables good image reading with an optimal amount of light.

Figures 1 and 2 show embodiments of the present invention, where 1 is a CCD sensor that is an image reading sensor, 2 is an amplifier with a variable amplification factor, 3 is a clamp circuit that determines the DC level, and 4 is an analog quantity. 5 is a memory RAM that stores the white level before reading the original, 6 is an MPU that controls the sequence of the device and the amplification factor of the amplifier 2, and 7 is a thermistor, etc. A temperature sensor detects the temperature around the light emitting source, 8 is a light emitting source for exposing an original made of a fluorescent lamp, and 9 is a memory ROM in which a temperature change table of the light emitting source 8 is stored. 10 is an arithmetic unit that calculates the ratio between the white level in the RAM 5 and the original reading output. Next, in the above configuration, the MPU 6 first uses the CCD sensor 1.
is moved to the white board reading position, and the white level correction data output from the CCD sensor 1 at that time is sent to the amplifier 2.
, clamp circuit 3, and RAM 5 via the A-D converter.
Take it inside. Next, search for the highest level of data in this RAM 5, determine whether the value is equal to a predetermined value,
Based on the judgment output, correct the amplification factor of the amplifier 2,
Read the white level again and set the output at that time to R.
Take in AM5. This is repeated and when the highest level reaches the predetermined value, the temperature of the fluorescent lamp 8 at that time is detected by the sensor 7 and stored. Next, the temperature is checked by the sensor 7 every scan when reading the original, and if a temperature change exceeding the setting is detected, the amplification factor of the amplifier 2 is changed according to the table 9. R.O.
Temperature characteristic parameters as shown in FIG. 2 are maintained in Me. For example, the amount of light φ1 for the temperature t1 when detecting the white level
Assuming that the current temperature t2 is the light amount φ2, the same output can be obtained by setting the amplification factor of the amplifier 2 to φ1/φ2 with respect to the previous amplification factor. Further, the information from the actual document is converted into a digital amount by the A-D converter 4, and then the ratio with the white level is calculated by the calculator 10 and output. Further, the amplifier 2 has a gain variable digitally by the MPU 6 by changing the resistance value of the amplifier using an analog switch. In the above embodiment, the sensitivity was adjusted using a temperature sensor, but in case of sudden temperature changes, for example, the characteristics immediately after the light source is turned on, an on-time timer is provided, and a function table of the on-time and light amount is stored in a ROM. Combination use is also considered to be an effective means. [Effects] As explained above, by detecting the temperature of the light emitting source, performing a table calculation on the change in the amount of light corresponding to the temperature, and correcting the amplification factor of the human power amplifier, reading with constant sensitivity becomes possible.
