Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title ink which can remarkably simplify the correction of prints, by adding a magnetic powder to an ink composition. CONSTITUTION:The title ink is obtained by adding at most about 20pts.wt. magnetic powder of a particle diameter of 5mu, such as ferrite or triiron tetraoxide, to a composition comprising, for example, about 50pts.wt. petroleum or ester wax (A) (e.g., paraffin wax), about 10pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (B) of a vinyl acetate content of 5-40wt.% and about 15pts.wt. carbon black (C). A thermal transfer ink ribbon 3 formed by coating a base film 2 with this ink 1 is heated with a thermal head 4, the molten ink 1' is transferred to an object 5 such as paper to form a print 1' need be corrected, the ink 1' is molten by operating a heating head 6, and is lifted off from the object 5 by attracting the molten ink by head 6 through the magnetic powder contained in it. In this way, its correction is made possible.
