Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent snow from getting clogged to the inside of a tire housing, by attaching a panel heater, to be opposed to the back of a tire, to an inner surface of the tire housing. CONSTITUTION:A panel-form heater H is attached to the inside of each tire housing 2 of front wheels 1 of an automobile. In this case, the heater H is installed as to be opposed to the back of each front wheel 1 at both sides. This heater H consists of a flexible panel in which a faced electric heating element 6 is embedded, and a cord 3 is led out of this heating element 6. This cord 3 is connected to a power source via an on-off switch SW and a cigar socket 4. Accordingly, at the time of driving in a snow-covered district, if the on-off switch SW is made in circuit and the heater 6 is heated, the snow rolled in space between each front wheel and the housing 2 is melted by heat, thus snow is in no case clogged in the tire housing 2.

As shown in FIG. 1, a panel-shaped heater H, which is a feature of the present invention, is installed inside a tire housing 2 of, for example, a front wheel 1 of an automobile. It is preferable that the lower end of the heater H hangs slightly below the vehicle body so as to function as a mudguard. The plate heater H is an electric heater, and is connected via a cord 3 to an on-off switch SW that connects it to a power source (battery). Note that this switch SW can also be connected to the cigarette lighter socket 4. As shown in FIG. 2, panel heaters H are arranged oppositely behind the wheels 1.1 on both sides. The panel heater H attached to the inner surface of the tire housing 2 has an arc shape as shown in FIG.

The panel heater H has a cross-sectional configuration as shown in FIG. An insulating resin layer 11 such as an olefin elastomer is provided on the front side (the side facing the wheel 1) of the sheet heating element 6.
However, a fluororesin layer 12 is laminated on the front side thereof. This resin layer 12 is made of, for example, Teflon (trade name), and serves as a snow accretion prevention layer to which snow and the like do not easily adhere. Further, a heat insulating layer 13 made of foamed urethane resin or the like is provided on the back side of the planar heating element 6, and a resin layer 14 such as an olefin elastomer is provided on the back side. When driving in snowy or snowy areas, the switch SW is turned on to cause the electric heating element 6 to generate heat. As a result, the snow caught inside the tire housing 2 will melt, or even if it snows, it will be only a small amount. According to the test results, when the outside temperature was relatively high (about 0° C.) and the snow quality contained a lot of moisture, the snow fell naturally. In addition, when the outside temperature is low and the snow quality is low in moisture, there is little chance of the snow falling naturally, but it was relatively easy to remove it when the vehicle stopped or parked.
