。That is, the watch band piece of the present invention is characterized in that it is made of a ceramic material consisting of alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, or silicon nitride. Generally, such ceramic materials are ground into a fine powder to an average particle size in the range of about 0.05 to IO μm, particularly in the range of about 0.1 to 0.5 μm, and the ceramic powder is combined with a suitable binder such as polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene oxide, etc. etc. to make a ceramic compound. The formulation may further contain suitable coloring agents such as chromium oxide, nickel oxide, cobalt oxide, manganese oxide, etc., singly or in a mixture, to produce any desired color, i.e., a single color, a mixed color or a variety of colors. It is done by making pieces colored in colored patterns.

A ceramic piece product is obtained by forming an elliptical molded body of the Hitotsubashi example shown in the figure and firing this molded body at a temperature of about 1300 to 1900°C. Connecting pin insertion holes 2 for connecting the pieces to each other are provided in this piece 1 near both ends of the piece 1 so as to pass through the piece body. These insertion holes 2 can be formed by suitable machining after molding the bridge body, but it is preferable to form them at the same time when the bridge body is press-molded.

This granulated material was pressurized using a cam press at a pressure of 1 ton/C1 m<2> to form an elliptical molded piece shown in FIG. This molded body was fired in air at 1450°C for 1 hour. This fired body was rotated in a bot mill for 1 hour with alumina particles of 0.5+nm to impart gloss to the surface, thereby obtaining a piece product of the present invention.
