あった。(C) Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the conventional document reading device described above is constructed by disposing a mirror at a predetermined position within the main body of the document reading device, and it takes time and effort to attach this mirror during manufacturing. There is an inconvenience that it takes. In addition, when a document reading device scans, such as a copying machine with a fixed document table, as in the example above, if a mirror or the like is installed inside the reading device, the weight of the document reading device increases, and the copying machine The disadvantage was that the power consumption was large.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an inexpensive document reading device with a simple configuration while preventing an increase in the power consumption of the device.

In the document reading device of this embodiment, the document reading device main body 1 is made of resin to reduce weight, and as shown in FIG. Each surface (the inner wall surface of the document reading device main body) is plated with highly reflective plastic to form a portion of the mirror that functions as a mirror provided inside the conventional document reading device main body. The document reading apparatus main body 1 includes a reflector 3, a lamp 4, a lens 5, and a CCD sensor 6 as in the prior art.

The bent surface 1a passes through the opening 1d and forms a part of the mirror.
, 1b, and IC in this order, and further passes through the lens 5 to be focused on the CCD sensor 6. This reflected light is read by the light receiving surface of the CCD sensor 6 as an original image. Further, as this document reading device is scanned in the direction of arrow P by a drive source (not shown), images of the entire document surface are sequentially read by the CCD sensor 6.

Because of this, part of the mirror can guide the reflected light from the original to the lens as described above. In addition, since the main body of the document reading device is made of resin, and only a portion of the mirror is formed with plastic plating on the surface of this resin, the document reading device can be lightweight and have a simple structure, making it possible to read documents easily. Even if the driving force from the driving source during scanning of the apparatus is small, the apparatus can be driven sufficiently, which has the advantage of reducing the power consumption of the entire copying machine.

It has the effect of being simple, inexpensive, and lightweight. Furthermore, when the document reading device is driven to scan the surface of the document, since the document reading device is lightweight, scanning can be performed with low driving force, which has the effect of reducing power consumption.
