Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently and effectively clean an electrostatic charger by arranging cleaning members on point-symmetrical positions about the center of a moving center part arranged immediate under a charge wire. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning members 7 are made of a plastic material, arranged on the same line as the expanded charge wire 4 and fixed to a holding member 6 on the point-symmetrical positions about the center of a moving reference part (rotational center part) 17 of a moving part 8 through fitting parts 7'. A driving wire 5 is rotated by the rotation of a worm wheel 12 and the right end of the moving part 8 fixing the end of the driving wire 5 is stretched. The moving part 8 is stretched by the driving wire 5 and rotated around the center of the reference part 17 in the arrow B direction and the holding part 6 is also rotated in accordance with the rotation of the moving part 8, so that the cleaning members 7 arranged on both the sides of the charge wire 4 are moved. The charge wire 4 is held between the cleaning members 7 and the moving part 8 is moved along the movement guiding member 3 under said state, so that the charge wire 4 is rubbed and cleaned by the cleaning members 7.

However, especially in the case of primary charging, which applies electric charge to the photoreceptor 2, slight changes in the position of the wire affect the charging potential, so in the conventional method where the charging wire is always held between cleaning members, The position of the wire changes, causing inconvenience. Therefore, it has been desired that the cleaning member be in contact with the wire while cleaning, and be separated from the wire when not cleaning. In addition, when replacing a cleaning member that has been contaminated with toner or foreign matter wiped from the charge wire, if a holder made of clean Hflll material is attached to the underside of the wire as in the past, the charge wire will get in the way. , the replacement operation was difficult.

In the charger, a charge wire 4 is stretched in a casing 1, and a front end block 9, a rear end block 1, and a block 2 are provided at both ends of the charge wire. A cleaning moving member guide 3 with a TJ groove type cross section is provided at the bottom of the casing I within the effective charging width of the charge wire 4 between the front end block 9 and the rear end block 2.
The charging wire 4 is located on the center line E in the 11 direction of the cleaning moving member guide 1 (see FIG. 3). A moving section 8 is placed on the cleaning moving member guide 3''. On the moving part 8-1 side, the 5th end of the drive wire, which is passed by applying tension to the end block t111, is attached so that the left side mounting position is closer to the center than the right side mounting position, as shown in Fig. 2. It is fixed close to the charging wire side where it is located, and a cylindrical moving part reference part 17 is protruded from the lower surface thereof, and this moving part reference part 17 is fitted into the four parts of the cleaning moving member guide 3. However, it can be slid along the four parts in the longitudinal direction. A holding member 6 including a cleaning member 7 for cleaning the charge wire 4 is placed on the moving portion 8-1-. The cleaning member 7 is made of a plastic material and is located on the same line as the stretched charge wire 4.

The moving part 8 is pulled by the drive wire 5 and is connected to the moving part reference part 17.
As the moving part 8 rotates, the holding part 6 also rotates, and the cleaning members 7 provided on both sides of the charge wire 4 move, and the charge wire 4 is held between the cleaning members 7. In this state (state 1 in Fig. 2), the moving part 8
moves along the moving guide member 3, and the charge wire 4

When the motor 10 reaches the right end of the wire discharge area, the motor 10 rotates ;ψ, and in conjunction with this, the rotating direction of the drive wire 5 is also reversed, and the moving part 8 is pulled by the drive wire 5 attached to the left side thereof. However, since the drive wire 5 is passed between the end blocks by applying tension, and its left end is located closer to the recharge wire 4 side than the right end, its surface mounting position is A force is applied so that the cleaning member becomes parallel to the charge wire 4, and the cleaning member is in state 1.
Proceed along the return path in the direction of the arrow while remaining in the inclined cleaning position (see Figure 1).

When the moving part 8 reaches the home position 16, which is outside the effective charging state, one end of the moving part 8 collides with the front regulating part 1' of the front end block 9, and rotates in the direction of arrow E about the reference part 17. , stops along the front regulating section 9'', and moves along the moving section 8.
Press the detection filler 14, turn on the sensor j3,
The motor 10 is stopped 1:. At this time, the cleaning member 7 of the holding part 6 loosens the hair held by the charge wire 4 and cleans the charge wire 4.

[Effect] Since the cleaning member is attached at a point symmetrical position with respect to the center of the moving center at the straight T: of the charge wire, the cleaning member uniformly suppresses the charge wire by rotating the cleaning member holder. Therefore, good and effective cleaning is possible. Furthermore, since the charge wire is released from being held by the cleaning member except during cleaning, the charge wire can be maintained in a fixed position, and stable discharge characteristics can always be obtained. Also, when replacing or cleaning the cleaning member, you can use the cleaning member holding part [;
Since it can be removed, the work is easy, and there is no need to touch the charge wire, which eliminates damage to the charge wire and prevents the installation position from being disturbed.
