ラツクを該磁気テープの幅方向に複数に分割して
成る各分割トラツクにパルス符号変調された信号
を記録あるいは再生するヘリカル走査方式のマル
チトラツクＰＣＭ記録再生装置において、 前記複数の分割トラツクの内の少なくとも一つ
の分割トラツクを、他の分割トラツクに記録され
ているデータの内容等を示すインデツクスデータ
の記録再生専用のインデツクストラツクとすると
ともに、前記磁気テープの幅方向の一方の端部を
該磁気テープの長手方向に沿つて頭出し信号の記
録再生専用の頭出し信号用トラツクとし、 前記インデツクスデータをパルス符号変調して
前記回転磁気ヘツドによつて前記インデツクスト
ラツクに記録あるいは再生するための所定の処理
を行なう専用のＰＣＭ記録再生処理回路を設ける
とともに、前記頭出し信号を前記頭出し信号用ト
ラツクに記録あるいは再生するための第１固定磁
気ヘツドおよび記録した頭出し信号を消去するた
めの第２固定磁気ヘツドを備える頭出し信号処理
