ら上方に延在されると共に上記中間部分では上記
第1横壁部の下面に接合され同中間部分より車巾
方向外方では上記第1横壁部よりも上方に延在さ
れる第2縦壁部とから形成された第2パネル、上
記中間部分では上記第1フランジ外面に接合され
同中間部分より車巾方向外方では上記第2フラン
ジに接合される第3フランジと同第3フランジの
上端から上方に延在されると共に切欠き部を有す
る第3縦壁部と同第3縦壁部の上端から後方に向
つて延在され上記中間部分では上記第1縦壁部上
端に接合され同中間部分より車巾方向外方では上
記第2縦壁部上端に接合された第3横壁部とから
形成された第3パネル、上記第3横壁部と適宜間
隔を存して上方に配設され先端部が上記第3縦壁
部の上端部に接合されたルーフパネルを具備した
ことを特徴とする自動車の車体構造を要旨とし、
同上側縁の車体構造の強度を高めることを目的と
するものである。以下本考案を図面に示す実施例
にもとづいて詳細に説明する。第3〜7図におい
て、符号1はフロントウインドウガラス(以下ガ
ラスという)、2はルーフパネル、3は第1パネ
ルで、略水平方向に配設される第1横壁部3a
と、第1横壁部3aの前端部から下方に向つて延
びる第1フランジ部3bと、第1横壁部3aの後
端部から上方に向つて延びる第1縦壁部3cとか
ら形成されており、4は第2パネルで、第1フラ
ンジ部3bと接合すると共にフロントウインドウ
ガラス上側縁部両端部まで延びる第2フランジ部
4aと、第2フランジ部4aの上端部から略水平
方向に向つて延びる第2横壁部4bと、第2横壁
部4bの後端部から上方に向つて延びると共に第
4図に示す区間Aでは第1横壁部3aの裏面と接

性を高めるために形成した打込み凹所であり、さ
らに10は切欠き部5dの一部を形成する外気取
入用のエアインレツトグリル取付口、11はエア
インレツトグリル取付口10と同様に切欠き部5
dの一部を形成する車速度表示灯12を取付ける
ための取付口である。さらにまた第2パネル4に
形成した孔部13はスポツトガン挿入用口であ
る。第5,6図に示す凹部14には適宜のグリル
部材が嵌め込まれるものである。なお、第4図の
第3パネル5に図示はしなかつたが、上記車速度
表示灯12、エアインレツトグリル取付口10お
よびグリル部材を取付けるためのビス、ビス穴あ
るいは係合孔などが形成される。15はガラス1
上側縁と第1,第2両パネル3,4の接合フラン
ジ部16との間に介装されたウエザーストリツプ
である。なお、第3パネル5の下方フランジ部1
7は第3図の−断面で第5図に示す如く接合
フランジ部16で重合されている。本実施例は上
記したように、ガラス1上側縁のガラス開口縁部
が第1,第2両パネル3,4の接合によつて閉断
面構造Bに形成され、また車体外面に面する第1
パネル3の後方湾曲部19と協働してエア通路7
を形成する第3パネル5が第1パネル3とルーフ
パネル2の車両前方端縁部18との間に介装さ
れ、さらに同第3パネルに車速度表示灯12やエ
アインレツトグリルなどを嵌込んで取付けるよう
に構成したため、ガラス1の上側縁におけるガラ
ス開口縁部の剛性が高くなり、その結果ガラス上
