Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the holding of a flat plate in laterally turned position and lifted position, by stacking a plurality of flat plates each made of a material to which cells are attachable and proliferable and furnished with a feeding hole through which gas and liquid are introduced and attaching the stacked plates to a laterally turning frame. CONSTITUTION:The flat plate 4 used in the present apparatus is made mainly of a material to which cells can be attached and proliferated, has thick fringe and is provided with feeding ports 6, 7 for feeding gas and liquid. PLurality of the plates are stacked and attached to a laterally turning frame. The plate can be easily turned to lateral position in the case of pouring a medium into the apparatus and can be kept to lifted position for a long period in the case of discharging the medium and recovering the cultured product. The plates can be easily removed from the frame to save space in an incubator.

Conventional multilayer plate culture devices require manual lifting and overturning when injecting culture media, and must remain lifted manually for long periods of time when discharging the culture medium and recovering the culture. At this time, there is a risk of contamination with various bacteria unless sufficient equipment and care are taken in a sterile room, and the culture must be placed in a thermostatic chamber.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the multilayer plate culture device according to the present invention when a plurality of stacked plates are held horizontally and liquid is injected. Was leakage prevented? ! When liquid is injected into several stacked flat plates as shown by diagonal lines, the same volume of air as the volume of the injected liquid is discharged from the gas tap, so pressurization is not necessary when liquid is injected. Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view showing a plurality of stacked flat plates that have been turned over after closing the valve attached to the plurality of stacked flat plates into which liquid has been injected. The liquid indicated by diagonal lines communicates with the liquid through the liquid outlet hole and moves downward while being separated from the bottom of each flat plate.
This is a cross-sectional view showing a plurality of stacked plates that have been quickly returned to the horizontal plane, and as shown in the shaded area, the liquid is almost evenly distributed to each level of the plates, indicating that they are ready for cultivation. .

In Figure 4, the vessel was turned over again, tilted so that the liquid tap was facing down, and the valve was opened. It is a sectional view showing a plurality of laminated flat plates, and as the liquid is drained from the liquid tap, air flows in from the gas tap, so the liquid is drained without the need for suction. FIG. 5 is an external view of the multilayer plate culture apparatus according to the present invention attached to a roll-over type pedestal. This shows that the effect explained in the figure is exhibited.
