円柱形の電圧依存性抵抗体の両端に金属製キヤ
ツプを設けた構造のサージ吸収器の従来例として
は、第1図に示すようなものがある。この従来例
のサージ吸収器は、電圧依存性抵抗体1の円柱形
のどの部分も径が一定である。このため、電圧依
存性抵抗体1の両端に設けられた2つの金属製キ
ヤツプ2間の最短距離は、電圧依存性抵抗体1の
側面部になる。そして、電圧依存性抵抗体にサー
ジが印加された場合、電圧依存性抵抗体の最も抵
抗の低い部分に集中して電流が流れる。第1図に
