低位上面部7cは石鹸載置部として利用されるこ
ともある。該低位上面部7cの内方寄りには、低
位上面部7cの長手方向に沿つて起立壁9が立設
されている。該起立壁9の高さhは、10乃至20mm
とするのが好ましいが、何らこの数値に限定する
ものではない。該起立壁9の外方寄り端部9a
は、外方へなる程漸次低くなる曲線状に形成さ
れ、前記低位上面部7cと貯水鉢6とに通じる流
水路10が前記低位上面部7cと略々同レベルに
なるように形成されている。前記低位上面部7c
の起立壁9に近傍する箇所には、オーバーフロー
孔11が、洗面器5を通常の使用高さに据付けた
ときに使用者の視野領域の範囲外となるように穿
設されている。該オーバーフロー孔11は、堤7
の内部に形成された排水路12へ連通する。貯水
鉢6の底面には、排水路12に連通する排水口1
3が開口されている。なお、前記洗面器5は、平
面矩形型の実施例を示したが、何らこれに限定す
るものではなく図示省略したが、平面丸型、平面
楕円型等の適宜形状とすることも勿論可能であ
