As shown in the figure, an electromagnetic induction type transparent coordinate detection plate l,
a polarizing plate 2, a glass substrate 3 constituting a liquid crystal display panel,
4 and a reflective plate 5 with a polarizing plate are laminated in order,
Another type is a tie made by laminating in order a polarizing plate 7, glass substrates 8 and 9 constituting a liquid crystal display panel, a reflecting plate 10 with a polarizing plate, and an electromagnetic induction transparent coordinate detection plate 11, as shown in FIG. There are two methods, but both have problems in that the devices are thick and difficult to reduce in size and weight, and a correction circuit is required due to the misalignment between the detected coordinates and the display position.

An input pen coordinate detection electrode 19 having a width of 0.mu. to 15.mu. is formed, and both substrates 13 and 14 are stacked so that the respective electrodes are perpendicular to each other. That is, this liquid crystal display panel is a dot matrix display device and also serves as a coordinate detection device for an input pen.

In this case, if the electrode width is 10 to 15 .mu., the length of the IO wire is about 30 to 50 M.OMEGA., and the resistance value is so large that it cannot serve as a wiring. Therefore, in this embodiment, a metal wire is used as the coordinate detection electrode 19. This metal line has the advantage that it does not affect the display because it is invisible to the eye and has a width of 1 μm.
If you use Au metal wire, the wiring resistance is 10α, which is OK.

Fig. 2 shows an example in which the terminals 18 and 20 are arranged on both sides, but as shown in Fig. 3, they are arranged only on one side. You may also arrange it. Further, 16 is a pen for generating magnetic flux.

Furthermore, since the transparent electrode 17 and the coordinate detection electrode 19 are formed on the same plane, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a deviation between the detected coordinates and the display position.
