Furthermore, because of the size of the glow tube and ballast used to light the lamp, ultraviolet lamps inevitably have a large overall size even if they have a small capacity, making it difficult to downsize them.

When a lamp is used, it is difficult to miniaturize the lamp for the reasons mentioned above, and it is difficult to attach it to the container itself instead of irradiating unnecessary parts and making it uneconomical.

This prevents contamination of the items placed in the container.

In the figure, (1) shows a container, (2) a light emitting diode, and (3) a lead wire connected to a suitable power source. The light emitting diodes (2) are arranged on nine substrates (not shown) on the inner surface of the container (1), each connected in parallel to tS. Further, the light emitting diode (2) is provided with a suitable protective coating. In addition to a toothbrush or a comb, a toothpaste, a microphone, or the like that comes into contact with the human mouth may be placed in such a container (1). Even better effects can be obtained if the articles placed in these containers are translucent. In the example shown, the light emitting diode (2) is placed inside the container (1).
Although they are arranged on the inner surface of the , they may also be arranged on the bottom surface. The number of light emitting diodes (2) varies depending on the output of each diode, but since the output of the light emitting diode can be increased by oscillating a large pulse, the number can be reduced in that case.

In this figure, parts corresponding to those in FIG. 1 are given the same reference numerals. In the case of a cylindrical container, the arrangement of the light emitting diode (2) requires some consideration. For example, only the portion where the light emitting diode (2) is attached is formed flat, or the container (1) is formed into a polygonal column shape. Other points are similar to those in FIG.
