[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Summary] When adding reverberation to a stereo signal by a reverberation adding device, a mixer that takes the stereo signal as input and can vary the common component or independent component of the stereo signal is provided at the input of the reverberation adding device. By adding the output of the reverberation adding device to the stereo signal, it is possible to add reverberant sound in which the common component or the left or right independent components are emphasized at low cost using a small-scale circuit. It is.

Recently, a method has been used to add reverberation to stereo signals to create a sense of presence. There may be cases where it is desired to emphasize the reverberation caused by the left and right microphones (the sound source is not in the center of the left and right microphones, but is mainly input to the left or right microphones).

In the conventional reverberation addition method, as shown in FIG. 2, the left signal R and the right signal R of the stereo signal are respectively converted into digital signals by an analog-to-digital converter 1.2, and the converted signals are respectively sent to an adder. 7.8 and also sent to reverberation adding devices 3 and 4, the outputs of the reverberation adding devices 3 and 4 are attenuated by variable attenuators 5 and 6, respectively, and added by adder 20. The reverberant signals attenuated by the respective adders 7 and 8 are input to adders 7 and 8, and added to the signals from the analog-to-digital converters 1.2, respectively, and the added signals are input to the digital-to-analog converters 9.10. It is converted to analog and output.

However, the reverberation adding devices 3 and 4 use multiple delay circuits (delay time of 10 to several tens of m5) to form reverberant sound isometrically, and the circuit scale is large and expensive. There is a problem in that using two circuits increases the circuit size and makes it expensive.

The above problem can be solved by providing a mixer 19 at the input of the reverberation adding device 16 which takes a stereo signal as an input and can vary the common component or independent component of the stereo signal, as shown in FIG. This problem is solved by the reverberation addition method of the present invention in which reverberation is added to the signal.

In the present invention, from the left and right stereo signals, M=ax
A signal M is generated, and the relationship between a and b is expressed as a 2 + b 2
= c 2 (where C is a constant), and by varying a and b, the signal M can be varied from the common component of the stereo signal to the independent component. We also focused on the point that if a signal in which the common component or independent component of is varied is inputted to one reverberation adding device, a reverberant sound in which the common component or the left or right independent component is emphasized can be obtained from this output. Since the common component or the left or right independent component of the reverberant sound to be added is emphasized by one reverberation adding device, the circuit scale can be made small and inexpensive.

In FIG. 1, the left side signal and the right side signal R of the stereo signal are respectively converted into digital signals by analog-to-digital converters 1 and 2, and input to adders 7 and 8, respectively, and to the multiplier of mixer 19. 12. Also input to 13, and ROM here
The coefficients a and b from 14 are multiplied and added in an adder 15. This added signal is input to a reverberation adding device 16, and the output is sent to an adder 7.8 through variable attenuators 17 and 18, respectively. It is added to the input signal from the analog/digital converter 1.2, converted into analog by the digital/analog converter 9.10, and output.
