Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of assembly work on the safety valve of a sealed lead-acid battery, by providing a buffer material and a rubber-sheet-like valve for closing a gas outlet port, in the recess of the upper portion of the jar of the battery, and closing the recess with a push plate formed integrally with the jar. CONSTITUTION:A recess 6 is provided in the top of the jar 1 of a sealed lead- acid battery. A flat valve seat 7 having a gas outlet port 5 is provided at the bottom of the recess 6. A rubber-sheet-like flat valve 4 for hermetically closing the gas outlet port 5 and a buffer material 3 for elastically and uniformly pushing the flat valve are housed in the recess 6. The jar 1 of the battery is integrally formed with a push plate 2 whose thickness is made smaller at the attached butt portion 9 thereof than the other portion thereof so that the attached butt portion can be easily bent. The top of the buffer material 3 is then covered with the push plate 2 and pressed thereby so that the push plate is secured at the step of the upper portion of the recess 6 to constitute a safety valve. The efficiency of assembly work is thus enhanced greatly to reduce the cost thereof.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Conventionally, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, this type of sealed storage battery has a recess 6 with a flat bottom as a valve seat 7 on the top surface of a battery case 1, and a valve seat 7 at the center of the valve seat. Along with providing an exhaust port 6,
It had a cushion holding plate 2 that held from above a rubber sheet-like flat valve 4 that blocked the exhaust port and a cushion material 3 that elastically pressurized the rubber sheet-like flat valve, and that closed the recess 6. . This presser plate 2 is made by ultrasonic welding.
It had a structure that was fixed to the battery case 1.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve these problems, the present invention integrally molds the battery case and the holding plate of the cushioning material, and also makes the root part of the holding plate thinner than the thickness of the holding plate. This is a sealed lead-acid battery characterized by making it easy to fold and bending the battery, and by providing a concave and convex portion in the temporary fitting part of the presser plate at the opening of the recess, it has a structure in which it can be removed once the presser plate is fitted.

In the figure, 1 is a battery case, and 6 is a recess provided in the center of the top surface of the battery case 1. The bottom surface of this recess 6 forms a planar valve seat 7. Reference numeral 5 designates an exhaust port provided at the center of the upper part of the lead-acid battery chamber 8 of the planar valve seat 7 facing each other. Reference numeral 4 denotes a rubber sheet-like flat plate that is in close contact with the valve seat 7 and closes the exhaust port 6 airtightly. Reference numeral 3 denotes a cushioning material that elastically and uniformly presses the Hirai 4 upward, and this cushioning material 3 is further covered with pressure from the upper surface by a presser plate 2. This presser plate 2 is integrally molded with the battery case, and the base portion 9 of the presser plate 2 is thinner than the rest so that it can be easily bent, and is fixed to the stepped portion of the opening of the recess 6.

Effects of the Invention With the configuration of the present invention as described above, the holding plate of the cushion material can be bent and fitted to the battery case in one step, so the safety valve assembly work efficiency is improved and the number of work steps is significantly reduced. Ru. Furthermore, once the presser plate is fitted, it does not easily come off, contributing to improved quality. Furthermore, the number of parts is reduced, which leads to cost reduction, and the present invention has the advantage that it can be applied to miniaturization of sealed lead-acid batteries in the future.
