Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled product containing protamine, its salt or its derivative as a fungicidal mildew-proofing agent, effective in preventing the generation and proliferation of bacteria and mildew in a cleaning textile product such as mop, kitchen dish-cloth, etc., and having high safety. CONSTITUTION:Protamine, its salt or its derivative is used as an fungicidal mildew-proofing component of the objective product. Generally, protamine is found in the testicle of fish and exists in a testis cell nucleus in the form bonded with deoxyribonucleic acid. Examples of typical protamine are salmine (present in sperm nucleus of salmon), clupeine (present in sperm nucleus of herring), scombrine (present in sperm nucleus of mackerel), etc. Synthetic protamine can be used as well as natural protamine. The treatment of the textile product can be carried out by immersing a textile product in a solution of protamine and drying the product. The amount of protamine attached to the fiber is preferably 0.0001-5wt%, especially 0.001-1wt% based on the fiber.

Generally, protamine is present in the testis of fish, and is present in the nucleus of sperm cells bound to deoxyliponucleic acid. Typical protamines listed in fish include salmin (in the sperm nucleus of salmon), scombrin (in the sperm nucleus of mackerel), cyprinine (in the sperm nucleus of carp), and sturin (in the sperm nucleus of sturgeon). (in the sperm nucleus of bonito) and kazoprotamine (in the nucleus of the sperm of bonito). The fish mentioned above are commonly eaten in the human diet.
In other words, since humans have been eating protamine for a long time in order to survive, the protamine that can be extracted from their testicles is guaranteed to be safe, and it goes without saying that it is non-toxic and harmless. Furthermore, it has been confirmed through long-term human experience that it does not cause any skin disorders.

(Description of preferred embodiments of the invention) In the present invention, it is of course possible to use a mixture of a plurality of protamines, or to use a mixture of existing antibacterial agents, antifungal agents and protamine, and to obtain the desired antibacterial activity.・Various modifications can be made to exhibit antifungal properties. Furthermore, as a characteristic of protamine, when an antibacterial and antifungal agent is used together with a surfactant, its effectiveness tends to be reduced in many cases, whereas this phenomenon is not observed with protamine; Can be actively shared with other agents. In other words, it is considered to be optimal as an antibacterial and antifungal agent for cleaning textile products that share surfactants.

The molecular weight of protamine is approximately 4,000 to 8,000, and as a characteristic of the protein, it has folds in various places.
It is particularly suitable for fibrous dust control products such as paper towels. That is, it is entangled with the fiber bundles of the dust control product and is hard to separate, and can maintain its antibacterial and antifungal effect even after being washed a considerable number of times with normal washing.

Protamines (a general term for protamine, its salts, and its derivatives) are used as antibacterial and antifungal agents in cleaning textile products such as cloths, mats, rags, kitchen towels, paper napkins, paper rags, and paper towels. This amount varies depending on the degree of antibacterial properties required and the application, but generally speaking, from 0.0001 to 5% ffi, especially 0.00%, based on the IA fiber.
It is preferable to use it in an amount of 1 to 1% by weight; that is, if this amount is less than the above range, sufficient antibacterial and antifungal properties may not be obtained, and even if it exceeds the above range, There is no particular advantage in terms of the above properties, and it is economically disadvantageous.

Cleaning textile products are often coated with or impregnated with dust adsorbents to improve their ability to absorb and retain dust.Oil-based and water-based dust adsorbents are used; The above-mentioned protamines can be blended into the adsorbent and included in cleaning textile products in the form of a protamine-containing dust adsorbent composition. Such a usage mode is particularly desirable, as protamine is easily positively charged. Therefore, it firmly ionically adheres to fibers that tend to be negatively charged, resulting in a sustained action.

When impregnating with an oil agent for dust adsorption such as that normally used in chemical motups, known methods such as adopting an oil-in-water emulsion method in which protamine is dispersed or spraying an oil agent in which protamine is dispersed are used. It can be incorporated at the appropriate stage of the processing method. In this case, it is desirable that the dust adsorbent contains 0.01 to 5% by weight of protamines.

After dehydration and drying, indoor cleaning was performed once a day for 28 days using this cotton cloth. During this time, no mold growth was observed on the cotton fabric, indicating that the antibacterial and antifungal effects of salmin continued. In addition, after exposing cotton fabric to ethylene oxide gas for one day to kill dust, bacteria, and mold, a test was conducted to determine whether antibacterial and antifungal agents remained within the cotton fabric. A circular piece of cloth with a diameter of 18+++s is cut from cotton cloth, and this circular piece of cloth is used as a disk as described above.
Antibacterial test of species C, D, E, F, G, H,
A mold resistance test was conducted on five types of molds c, d, e j and g. Regardless of the type of bacteria and mold, the size of the inhibition zone was almost the same before and after cleaning, indicating that the antibacterial and antifungal activity continued to work without decreasing. The above results are considered to be due to the following reasons. In general, protamine is positively charged in an aqueous solution, and salmin is no exception. On the other hand, the surface of cotton cloth is negatively charged in water, and the positively charged salmine and negatively charged cotton cloth electrically attract each other. is firmly adsorbed onto the cotton cloth by electric force. In addition, salmine physically entangles with the fibers, reinforcing this bond. As a result, even if the kitchen dish towel was washed again, salmin was difficult to remove from the cotton cloth, and it is thought that its antibacterial and antifungal effects were sufficiently exerted for about 6 days. However, on the 9th day, the desorption due to rewashing became more intense, and the effect seems to have decreased.

Therefore, based on this experiment, if salmin is adsorbed onto the kitchen towel again on the 9th day, the antibacterial and antifungal agent will be restored and the towel can be reused. In particular, in the case of kitchen dish towels, salmin is dissolved in water and just by dipping it into the solution, it can be automatically adsorbed into the fibers by electric force and physical entanglement force, so the adsorption power is extremely high, and it can easily be used at home. can be easily subjected to antibacterial and antifungal treatment. It goes without saying that the same procedure can be applied to other protamines.
