Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the positioning of a track with high accuracy by fitting the magnetic head having magnetic head core to the support arm integrally projecting a reinforcing wall at both sides via a gimbal spring and by placing a vibration control material on this support arm as well. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head supporting device increases the rigidness by integrally projecting a reinforcing wall 6a at both sides excluding both ends parts in the longitudinal direction of a support arm 6 and the vibration transmitted to a magnetic head 3 can be absorbed and attenuated by fitting a damper material 4 with its bridging to the reinforcing wall 6a as well. The reinforcing material having high rigidness may be used instead of fitting the damper material 4 to the reinforcing wall 6a of the support arm 6.

力が加わってそれがジンバルスプリング2と共振すると
、磁気へクド3の振動も大きくなって浮上時の安定性が
悪くなり、目的とするトラック位置上に磁気ヘッド3金
保持させ、磁気ディスク5との情報の読み・書きが不確
実になる。また、磁気ヘッド支持構造の違い等により既
存のダンパー材4の取付方法では振動が減衰しないなど
の問題点があった。
