Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled film of outstanding heat sealability, readily peelable in tearing, from a resin composition comprising ethylene-acrylic ester copolymer and styrene-butadiene block copolymer with the styrene content in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The objective film can be obtained by inflation process, using a composition prepared by blending of (A) an ethylene-acrylic ester copolymer with an acrylic ester content pref. 5-35wt% and (B) a styrene-butadiene block copolymer with a styrene content 60-95wt% in a weight ratio A/B of 5-50/95-50. This film is capable of taking wider sealing temperature range leading to ready tearing than that for conventional sealing materials.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to a film for heat sealing, and particularly to a film used as a sealing material when heat sealing containers made of styrene resin.

(Prior Art) Containers made of styrene resin (hereinafter referred to as styrene containers) have been widely used as seal packs in recent years for packaging foods such as dairy products, confectionery, and tofu. Aluminum foil coated with hot-melt adhesive or solvent-controlled adhesive is used as the sealing material for these containers, but from a food hygiene point of view, the adhesive remaining on the container side after the sealing material is peeled off is used. This has become a problem, and a sealing material that can replace aluminum foil is desired.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) Regarding this point, the present applicant has already proposed a method of heat sealing a styrene container using a sealing material containing a styrene-butadiene block copolymer (Japanese Patent Publication No. 52
-46150). When using this method, it has become possible to widen the sealing temperature range for styrene containers, which was previously thought to be extremely narrow, but even in this case, it is still not practical. It cannot be said that it is completely satisfactory.

The present inventors further conducted research into a sealing material that can be applied over a wide range of sealing temperature conditions, and found the film described below as a sealing material that is fully satisfactory from a practical standpoint.
The present invention has now been completed.

In a film composed of 5 WZ% styrene-butadiene block copolymer (B) (hereinafter referred to as component (B)), component (A) is present in the range of 5 to 5 Qwz%. If it is less than 5 wz%, the range of seal temperature conditions for easy opening becomes narrow, and if it exceeds 5 Qwt, tackiness increases, causing blocking, and at the same time, the seal strength itself decreases.

As the acrylic ester to be used, ethyl acrylate is mentioned as a substitute, but other esters can be used as well. The content of acrylic ester in component (A) is preferably in the range of 5 to 35 wz% from the viewpoint of film strength.

All the components were mixed within the composition range shown in the example coating, and a film with a thickness of 100 μm was formed by the inflation method, and the sealing properties, film formability, and film physical properties of the film were measured. The sealability was measured using a container made of impact-resistant styrene resin. Each measurement was judged based on the following criteria.

(1) Sealing property Heat-seal the film obtained from the composition in the table to a pudding container made of impact-resistant styrene resin, and if the sealing temperature condition with easy-opening property is 20'C or higher, it is defined as fO, A case where the temperature was less than 20°C was marked as ×. Easy-to-open property means that the container is sealed in a normal state and can be easily opened by hand without damaging the lid or the container when the lid is peeled off.
