Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a steering wheel provided with a beautiful high-grade appearance making the most of low line pattern of a wood grain, by a method wherein a steering wheel is pressed against a wood grain pattern printing thin film floated on a water surface, in a specified condition, and is rotated, thereby performing printing. CONSTITUTION:First, a flow line form wood grain pattern developed when a wood is cut in parallel to the axial direction is printed on a water-soluble base 5 such as a thin PVA film, and an adhesive layer 7 is provided on the printed pattern layer 6 by coating to produce the thin fil 4 for printing. Then, the thin film 4 is floated on water 3, and the base 5 is removed by dissolving it in water while retaining the wood grain pattern. Further, the steering wheel 1 is pressed against the thin film 4 thus floated, and is rotated in the direction conforming to the flow line direction of the wood grain pattern, whereby the wood grain pattern is printed on the surface of the wheel 1 so that the imaginary center axis of wood based on the wood grain pattern thus transferred coincides with the center axis 8 of the wheel 1.

<Prior Art> Conventionally, as a method for transferring an arbitrary printed pattern onto the curved surface of an object to be transferred, a printing method disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-41682 or Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-50547 is known. This printing method involves printing a predetermined pattern on a water-soluble base, coating it with an adhesive, floating the treated thin film on the water surface, dissolving the water-soluble base in the water, and dissolving the water-soluble base above the water surface. The transferred object with a more curved surface is
The pattern is transferred to the object by pressing it against the film.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> In the conventional method as described above, for example, when a wood grain pattern is to be printed on the surface of a steering wheel of an automobile,
Simply pressing the steering wheel against the wood-grain horizontal I film floating on the water surface will cause the wood-grain pattern on the surface of the steering wheel (1) to move in a fixed direction regardless of the shape of the steering wheel, as shown in Figure 5. It is printed only in a striped pattern, and it is not possible to obtain the beautiful streamlined pattern inherent in the wood grain pattern.Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-41682 discloses that the object is pressed against the N film without being rotated. However, as the object rotates, the thin film gradually adheres to the object's surface and removes air that tends to remain on the uneven parts, and the pattern on the thin film and the shape of the object are It does not specify a relationship.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and its main component is that the grain pattern of a thin film printed with a wood grain pattern that is kept floating on the water surface is aligned in the direction of the grain pattern streamlines. A steering wheel is pressed and rotated in a matching direction to transfer a wood grain pattern onto the surface of the steering wheel, and the central axis of the wood artificially formed by the transferred wood grain pattern is substantially aligned with the central axis of the steering wheel. It consists in the process of making it match.

As shown in Fig. 2, this printed thin film (4) is applied to a water-soluble base (5) made of, for example, a polyvinyl alcohol thin film, with streamlined wood grains that appear when the wood is cut parallel or diagonally to its central axis. Print the pattern and print the printed pattern layer (6
), and furthermore, an adhesive layer (7) such as epoxy resin or acrylic resin is applied and formed on this printed pattern layer (6). Here, the water-soluble base (5) may be any thin film that is easily soluble in water, and in addition to the above-mentioned polyvinyl alcohol thin film, known materials such as sodium polyacrylate, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyethylene oxide, and starch film may be used. used. When the printed thin film (4) having such a structure is floated on the water surface as shown in FIG. 2, the water-soluble base (5) is dissolved and removed in the water, and the printed pattern layer (6) and the adhesive (N<7) are removed. (Figure 3) and remains above the water surface in a semi-fluid state. At this time, the wood grain pattern of the printed pattern j1 (6) remains floating on the water surface without being deformed. On the printed thin film (4) in such a state, the steering wheel (1), which has been formed in advance with a synthetic resin or the like so that the surface is smooth, is coated with the printed pattern layer (4).
6) The steering wheel (1) portion is completely submerged under the water surface by being pressed against it in accordance with the streamline direction of the wood grain pattern. In this way, the printed pattern layer (6) is pressed and transferred by water pressure to the surface of the steering wheel (1) submerged in the water surface via the adhesive layer (7). The steering wheel (1) is rotated and moved as shown by arrows and broken lines in FIG. 1, and the transfer operation is completed by one rotation. In the first figure, the printed thin film (4) is shown without the adhesive layer (7).

In this way, a wood grain pattern as shown in FIG. 4 is printed on the surface of the steering wheel (1). The central axis of the wood artificially formed with this wood grain pattern is made to substantially coincide with the center-axis (8) of the steering wheel (1), thereby making it appear as if the steering wheel (1)
The result is a wood grain pattern that looks as if it were made from a single cylindrical piece of wood bent into a circular ring.

<Effects of the Invention> The present invention makes the streamline direction of the wood grain pattern printed on the surface of the steering wheel match the direction of the center axis of the steering wheel, and the wood center axis that is pseudo-formed by this wood grain pattern is used for steering. Because it is aligned substantially with the central axis of the wheel, it creates the illusion for the viewer that the steering wheel is made by bending a thin cylindrical piece of wood into a circular ring, and the wood grain pattern It is possible to create a beautiful and luxurious steering wheel that fully utilizes the streamlined lines of the steering wheel.
