本発明は、きわめて手軽に白髪を徐々に黒く染
めるために用いる白髪染毛剤に関する。 従来、白髪を黒く染毛する方法として、パラフ
エニレンジアミン系の酸化型染料を主成分とする
染毛剤を用いて速かに染毛する方法が知られてい
るが、該染料が皮膚刺激性を有しており、皮膚刺
激やカブレなどをさけるため、近年、硫酸第一鉄
のような鉄塩と、これと反応して黒色に発色する
タンニン酸、没食子酸、ピロガロール、ドーパな
どの物質(以下、発色剤という)との反応を利用
して白髪を穏やかに、徐々に黒く染毛する方法が
広く採用されている。かかる方法には、第一鉄塩
と発色剤を安定に配合した1剤形の染毛剤をくり
返し使用する間に、空気酸化による発色で徐々に
染毛する方法や、第一鉄塩を主成分とする第1剤
と、発色剤を主成分とする第2剤からなる2剤形
の染毛剤を用い、第1剤と第2剤を交互に毛髪に
塗布し、空気酸化により発色させ、これをくり返
して徐々に染毛する方法がある。 しかしながら、1剤形の染毛剤を用いる方法は
簡便ではあるが毛髪に滲透しないで残存した染毛
剤が空気酸化によつて黒化し、手や衣服、枕カバ
ーなどに付着し、汚れるという欠点があり、ま
た、2剤形の染毛剤を用いる方法は非常に手間が
かかり、染毛効果があまりよくないという欠点が
ある。 本発明者は、第一鉄塩と発色剤を用いて白髪を
染毛する方法について種々検討を加える間に、常
用される頭髪用化粧品中に第一鉄塩のみを配合
し、これを連用して毛髪に鉄イオンを滲透、沈着
させておき、適当な時期、例えば、日常のシヤン
プーやリンスの際に発色剤を含む鉄塩を配合しな
い組成物で毛髪を処理することにより、前記のよ
うな汚れのような問題なしに、きわめて手軽に、
しかも、従来の方法よりもはるかに効果的に白髪
の染毛が行なえることを見出した。また、染毛効
果が第一鉄塩および発色剤を作用させるときのPH
に影響されることも判明した。 すなわち、本発明は、第一鉄塩と、タンニン
酸、没食子酸およびピロガロールからなる群から
選ばれる鉄イオンと反応して黒色に発色する物質
(発色剤)とを用いる白髪染毛剤の染毛剤であつ
て、第一鉄塩を配合し、該発色剤を含まないPH
2.5〜7.0の、日常の整髪に際して使用する整髪剤
形の第1剤(以下、単に整髪剤という)および、
該発色剤を配合し、該鉄塩を含まないPH1.0〜9.0
の該整髪剤使用後、定期的または不定期的に使用
する洗髪剤または洗髪仕上剤形の第2剤(以下、
単に発色剤組成物という)からなる白髪染毛剤を
提供するものである。本発明の染毛剤を用いる染
毛は、日常生活における整髪やシヤンプーまたは
リンスを利用して行なえるので、きわめて手軽で
あり、第一鉄塩を配合した整髪剤を連用すること
により、毛髪に鉄イオンが充分滲透、沈着し、こ
れを発色剤組成物で処理すると、毛髪内部で発色
が起り、従来の1剤形の染毛剤のような毛髪に滲
透しないで残存した染毛剤が毛髪外部で黒化し、
