れた棟換気装置にあつては、棟部内の湿気を含ん
だ熱気が、開口5→通気孔10→換気孔6という

ありながら、棟本体の水切り板に換気用の開口を
設けると共にこの開口から棟の長手方向へずれた
位置において棟カバーの側壁に換気孔を設け、換
気用の開口の設けられている空間と換気孔の設け
られている空間を仕切るように棟本体内に仕切り
板を立て、仕切り板に通気孔を開口して換気用の
開口と換気孔とを互いに連通させてあるから、棟
本体内での空気の流れが棟方向にも生じ、しかも
この空気の流れと垂直に仕切り板が立てられてお
り、たとえ棟カバーの側面の換気孔から雨水が吹
き込んでも、仕切り板に妨げられて水切り板の開
口から屋根裏空間へ浸入して屋根裏を濡らすこと
がなく、また仕切り板により空気の流れを制限し
て換気に伴い室内の熱(冬期)や冷気(夏)が棟
から屋外に逃げるのを抑えることができるという
効果がある。更には、水切り板の開口から棟本体
内へ出た空気が再び隣の開口を通つて屋根裏空間
へ戻り、換気不良の発生を防止できるという利点
がある。即ち、開口から上昇した空気が隣の開口
へ達するためには二枚の仕切り板を通過しなけれ
