Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to realize the reduction in cost and noise, by constituting the side wall of an ink channel from a magnetic material and arranging an electromagnet in close vicinity to said disc wall in a non-contact state. CONSTITUTION:The head plate 3 forming the side wall of the ink channels 2 formed in a jet head 1 is formed of a magnetic material and an electromagnet M is constituted by winding a coil 5 around an iron core 4 to be arranged in close vicinity to the head plate 3 in a non-contact state. When a current is intermittently supplied to the electromagnet M to repeat excitation and demagnetization, the head plate 3 is bent by the magnetic force of said electromagnet M and ink 6 is injected from each ink passage 2 through a nozzle 7 to perform printing. By this constitution, cost can be reduced as compared with a piezoelectric element and, because magnetic circuit parts are mounted to the jet head in a non-contact state, the noise level at the injection time of ink can be suppressed to a lower degree.

Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 3, in an on-demand type ejection head 8 of an inkjet printer, a piezoelectric element 10 is attached to the outer wall of a head plate 9 provided with an ink passage 9a. By bending the ink, ink is ejected from the passage 9a through the nozzle 11 to perform printing.

However, the piezoelectric element used as the drive source for ejection is expensive, which has been an obstacle to reducing the price of the ejection head. In addition, the piezoelectric element is placed on plate 9.
In order to attach the piezoelectric element to the plate 9, it requires a lot of work to assemble each piezoelectric element to the head, which increases the price of the head.Furthermore, since the piezoelectric element is directly bonded to the plate 9, noise is likely to be generated during printing. However, there is a problem in achieving low noise printing, and this tendency becomes more pronounced as the number of multi-nozzles increases, and is a major problem with this type of jet head.

The present invention includes an ejection mode in which the side wall of the ink passage is bent and ink is ejected from within the passage through the nozzle.
The inkjet ejecting head is characterized in that the side wall of the ink passage is made of a magnetic material, and an electromagnet is installed close to the side wall without contact.

In the embodiment, when ink is ejected, if a current is supplied intermittently to the electromagnet M and excitation and demagnetization are repeated,
The head plate 3 is bent by the magnetic force, and as the plate 3 is bent, ink 6 is ejected from the ink passage 2 through the entire nozzle 7, and printing is performed using the ink 6. .

As explained above, since the present invention uses a magnetic circuit to drive the ejection head of an inkjet printer, the price can be lower than that of a piezoelectric element, and since the magnetic circuit components can be attached to the ejection head without contact, This has the effect of suppressing the noise level during ink ejection to a low level and realizing noise reduction.
