Recently, escalators have gone from being used primarily as a simple means of transportation to being used primarily as a means of transportation; in addition to their original function, they are also required to have an elegant balustrade structure that fits well with interior decoration, and the area around the escalator's truss is covered. Exterior panels have come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, materials, etc., depending on the requests of escalator users. Therefore, if oil leaks from the escalator and oozes onto the exterior panels, it will spoil the beauty of the decorative item, and if a large amount of oil leaks, it will stain the clothes of the users and cause discomfort to the users due to the odor of the oil. Oil leakage must be completely prevented since it will give pleasure.

By the way, in a conventional escalator in which an escalator drive unit 2 is mounted on the upper side of an escalator truss 1 as shown in FIG. 1, the drive wheels 3 of the drive unit 2,
Since it is necessary to supply a large amount of oil to the handrail drive wheel 4, the drive chain 5, the handrail drive chain 6, etc. that are attached to these, a truss is installed on the underside of the truss 1 on which the drive unit 2 is attached as shown in FIG. An upper oil pan (oil pan) 7 wider than the width W of 1 is arranged to supply oil to the drive part 2 and receive dripping oil. On the lower surface of the hoistway of the escalator tread, a lower oil pan 8 whose width is narrower than the width W of the escalator truss is installed in order to minimize the installation space of the escalator and make effective use of the inside of the building.
The slanted end 7a of the upper oil pan 7 is squeezed and connected to catch the oil that drips on the stepping boards that go up and down, and also to guide the oil from the upper oil pan 7 to the lower floor. Prevents leakage. However, most of the oil supplied in large quantities to the drive unit 2 drips into the upper oil pan 7, but some of the oil is transmitted through the cross beams 11 and truss columns 12 of the truss 1 and the truss columns 12 as shown in FIG. It flows to the beam 13. By the way, since the width of the lower oil pan 8 is narrower than the width W of the truss 1, there is a problem that the oil flowing through the inclined truss beam 13 drips to the outside of the lower oil pan 8 and bleeds onto the exterior plate. .

This idea was made to solve the above problem, and it completely prevents oil leakage by allowing all the oil that flows through the truss beams to fall into the upper oil pan. It is intended to provide a leakage prevention device.

An embodiment of this invention will be described below with reference to FIG. This is a weir plate 14 that drains the oil flowing through the truss beam 13 into the upper oil pan 7, and is installed on the truss beam 13 in front of the sloping end 7a (see Figure 1) of the upper oil pan 7. . Although only the right truss beam 13 is shown in FIG. 4, the left truss beam (not shown) is also provided with a weir plate 14 in the same way as the right side.

The oil flowing through the truss beam 13 is blocked by the weir plate 14 and all of the oil is dropped into the upper oil pan 7 near the inclined end of the upper oil pan 7.

Since the oil leakage prevention device of this devised escalator is as described above, all the oil lubricated to the drive part is dropped into the upper oil pan, so that the oil flowing along the truss beam as in the conventional case is transferred to the lower part. No oil drips outside the oil pan, completely preventing oil leakage.
