In this cassette, a large number of different stored parts are arranged in a row on a carriage of a parts feeding device and are loaded in a large number at will, and the carriage is moved in the direction in which the cassettes are lined up.
An arbitrary cassette is made to correspond to a component receiving position of a component mounting device.

。Problems to be Solved by the Invention Conventionally, when a part of the cassette on the carriage breaks, the cassette has to be replaced manually. In this case, a cassette of the same type as the cassette whose part is missing is selected from a shelf containing a large number of replacement cassettes and replaced. Therefore, there is a problem in that it is inefficient, and it takes about 5 minutes to replace the cassette, and the component mounting device must be stopped during this time, which reduces the operating rate of the component mounting device. A cassette of l1lIJ normally stores about 5,000,111 electronic parts, but cassettes for parts that are used frequently have to be replaced many times in a day, resulting in a serious problem of reduced operating efficiency.

7 steps of changing the position of the out-of-parts cassette to the position of the new cassette in the empty storage area to correspond to the parts receiving position of the carriage; and after this, the parts mounting device replaces the board. (2) when said out-of-parts cassettes are taken out by said transfer means, and then, during the replacement of the board of the component mounting device, the cassettes in the empty storage area are transferred to the original storage area where the out-of-parts cassettes were placed. This method includes a step of replacing the cassette with a cassette, and a step of changing the subsequent operation of the carriage to correspond to the component receiving position from the empty storage area to the position of the replaced cassette.

There is no need to stop the component mounting device for cassette replacement, and there is no problem of lower operating rate. Further, since the cassette placed in the empty storage area of the carriage is replaced with the original cassette taken out due to out of parts, the empty storage area can be used in common for replacing all the cassettes on the carriage. Therefore, it is not necessary to individually throw empty storage spaces to all the cassettes on the carriage, and the number of empty storage spaces required can be reduced.

Furthermore, since the cassette in the empty storage area is replaced with the original cassette position, the operation of the carriage for selecting the cassette can be shortened. That is, when a plurality of types of parts are mounted on a single board, the carriage moves after taking out the parts from one cassette lined up on the carriage and then when taking out the parts from another cassette. Since this travel time becomes a loss time for mounting components, generally the cassettes are arranged in accordance with the order in which the components are taken out, so that the travel distance of the carriage is minimized. In this case, if parts are taken out from the empty storage area, the moving distance of the carriage is likely to become longer, but since the removal of parts from the empty storage area is temporary, loss time can be reduced.

At this time, the carriage 16 moves the out-of-parts cassette 15^ to a position corresponding to the spare 1L field PI and stops there. This transition I may be during the return of the carriage 16 to the original position when replacing the board 8, and after returning, the carriage 16 may be moved four times from the original position (ζ position) for attachment to the next) Is M2S. After this, parts mounting on the next board 8 is carried out with the device tJMSt still in the cassette/tray position.
When replacing the board 8, the cassette 15A' in the empty storage area S1 is replaced by the cassette transfer device 219 to the storage area SA where the original cassette 15A, which was taken out due to missing parts, was located. (Figure 4 (C)
Then, by automatic program change, the component 25 is taken out from the cassette 15A' in the original location #ASA.

Cassettes 15 placed in empty storage spaces 81 to S3 of carriage 16
The cassettes H5 are replaced with the original cassettes 15 taken out due to running out of parts, so the empty storage space S+-5r can be used in common for replacing all the cassettes H5 on the carriage 16. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide the empty storage areas 31 to S3 individually for all the cassettes 15 on the carriage, and the empty storage areas S, -S

The number of cassettes 15 to be installed may be equal to the number of cassettes 15 that are expected to be out of parts on one board 8, and one empty space S, -s3 may be sufficient at one location. Furthermore, since the cassettes 15 in the empty storage areas 81 to S3 are replaced to the original cassette 15 positions, the process for selecting the cassettes on the carriage 16 can be shortened. That is, when a plurality of types of parts 25 are mounted on one board 8, after taking out the parts 25 from one cassette 15 lined up on the carriage 16, when taking out the parts 25 from another cassette 15, The carriage 16 moves. This travel time is part 1. Therefore, the cassettes/cassettes 15 are generally arranged in accordance with the order in which the parts 25 are taken out, so that the moving distance of the carriage I6 is minimized. In this case, if the retrieval of the parts 25 is changed to the empty storage areas 31 to S3, the moving distance of the carriage 16 is likely to become longer, but since the removal of the parts from the empty storage areas S, -s is temporary, An increase in loss time is avoided.

An automatic cassette replacement method applied to a parts feeding device equipped with a carriage driving device that corresponds to a parts receiving position of the device, the method comprising at least one step in which a new cassette for replacement is placed near a reciprocating path of the carriage. A transfer means capable of transferring cassettes between the preliminary storage area and the carriage is prepared; Prepare an empty storage area, and then detect that the number of parts remaining in any cassette on the carriage has reached a predetermined number and give a warning that the parts are out of stock. When replacing a board, there is a step of transferring a new cassette of the same type of component as the previously announced cassette in the preliminary storage area to the empty storage area of the carriage; A step of detecting that a part of a previously announced cassette has run out, and a subsequent operation of corresponding to the part receiving position of the carriage based on this detection from the position of the part-out cassette to a new cassette position in the empty storage area. a step of taking out the out-of-component cassette with the transfer means when the component mounting device replaces the board; and a step of removing the cassette from the empty storage space from the empty storage space during the board replacement of the component mounting device. A step of replacing the out-of-stock cassette with the original storage location, and a step of changing the subsequent operation of the carriage to correspond to the parts receiving position from the empty storage location to the position of the replaced cassette. An automatic cassette exchange method for a parts feeding device, characterized in that:
