[Detailed description of the invention] The tip of the feather of the feather needle often breaks during stitch transfer during stockinette knitting. If the tip of the feather breaks, it will result in defective products with incomplete stitching, and it will take time and money to replace the feather needle, and the machine will have to be stopped during that time, resulting in a great deal of loss. This invention is intended to prevent the tip of the blade from breaking.

The following description will be given with reference to exemplary diagrams. FIG. 1 shows the usual shape of a conventional claw 4', and FIG. 2 shows the claw 4 of the present invention. 6 and 6' are nail plates. As shown in FIG. 2, the claw 4 of the present invention has a hollow portion 5 cut out in the surface of the claw 4 to a size that occupies a considerable portion of the width of the claw. This hollow part 5 is to prevent the feathers of the feather needle from pressing the claw 4 during stitch transfer, and must be of a size and position that can sufficiently serve this purpose. In addition, the present invention applies to the claws 4, 4' in

Next, the effects of the present invention will be described in comparison with conventional nails. Figures 3 to 5 are drawn to explain the behavior of the blades during stitch transfer. At the knitting opening, the feather needles 1 and 2 move relative to each other in the vicinity of the claws 4, 4'. FIG. 3 shows a state in which the needle 2 is inserted between the main body of the feather needle 1 and the blade 3 so as to intersect with the feather needle 1. At this point, the tip 3' of the blade 3 is in contact with the main body of the blade needle 1, but as the blade needle 1 moves downward, the blade 3 is pushed up by the needle 2.
Its tip 3' is separated from the main body of the feather needle 1. FIG. 4 shows a state in which the needle 2 is positioned at the tip of the blade 3 due to the downward movement (arrow) of the blade needle 1 when a conventional claw 4' is used. As shown, at this point the vane 3 is pushed up and its spine is attached to the claw 4'.
is being pressed against. Due to this pressing, the pawl 4' receives a strong pressing force from the blade 3. The blade 3 made of spring material moves the needle 2 by the downward movement of the blade needle 1.
When it separates from the blade, it rebounds and causes its tip to collide with the main body of the feather needle 1, but since the reaction force from the pressing of the claw 4' is added to this repulsive force, the impact force upon collision becomes large. Since the main body of the feather needle 1 is also strongly pressed by the needle 2 to the side opposite to the blade 3, the impact force between the main body of the feather needle 1 and the tip of the blade 3 increases due to the reaction force. Further, since the tip of the blade 3 repeats opening and closing movements using the pressure contact point with the pawl 4' as a fulcrum, fatigue of the blade metal increases at the pressure contact point. Due to this fatigue and the addition of the above-mentioned impact force, the tips of the blades 3 break off relatively soon after being used as new.

However, when the claw 5 of the present invention is used, the spine of the blade 3 pushed up by the needle 2 enters the hollow part 5 of the claw 4 as shown in FIG. 5, so that it cannot press the claw 4. do not have. Further, the pressing force of the needle 2 against the main body of the feather needle 1 is also relatively small. Therefore, feather 3 is needle 2
As for the force that acts when the tip collides with the main body of the feather needle 1 after detaching from the blade, there is no reaction force of the claw 4, the reaction force of the main body of the feather needle 1 is weak, and most of the force acts on the force acting on the blade 3.
Since only its own repulsive force is used, the impact force is significantly smaller than when the conventional claw 4' is used. Further, since the blade 3 does not come into pressure contact with the pawl 4, there is no fatigue of the blade metal at the pressure contact point unlike in the conventional pawl 4'. Therefore, the tips of the blades 3 do not easily break off even after repeated collisions many times, and the life of the blades is significantly longer than in the conventional case.

As mentioned above, when the claw of the present invention is used, the frequency of blade breakage is extremely reduced, so the generation of defective products that are likely to occur during stitch transfer is prevented, and the cost of knitting can be greatly reduced.
