本考案は特にロツド形リニアモータにおいて、
ブレーキ保持力をもたらすためのブレーキ装置に

期待されるにしてもリニアモータ自身ではブレー
キ保持力を有していないことから正確な位置決め
を要求される装置への応用ができない欠点があつ
た。即ち、例えば上下動制御を要求する装置で、
リニアモータ本体を途中にて位置決めして停止さ
せる装置、あるいは直線運動に際して途中いくつ
かの地点で正確なる位置決めを要求する装置には

固定されている。そしてこの固定鉄心5にはばね
収納用凹嵌部5a及びコイル収納用凹嵌部5bが
形成され、周囲均等な距離を隔てて4個設けられ
ている。6は可動鉄心で、固定鉄心に形成したば
ね収納用凹嵌部5a及びコイル収納用凹嵌部5b
に対向してそれぞればね収納用凹嵌部6a及びコ
イル収納用凹嵌部6bを形成している。7は摩擦
板で、上記可動鉄心6のロツド2に対向する面に
取付けられている。8はばねで、固定鉄心5、可
動鉄心6に形成した凹嵌部5a,6aに収納さ
れ、可動鉄心6をロツド2に圧接する方向に復元
力を及ぼし、この際固定鉄心5と可動鉄心6とは
空隙G2を有して相対座しているものとする。9
は励磁用コイルで、固定鉄心5及び可動鉄心6そ
れぞれに形成した凹嵌部5b,6bによつて構成
される部屋に収納され、当該コイル9の励磁に基
づいて可動鉄心6は固定鉄心に吸着され、これに
よつて摩擦板7はロツド2の表面から離れブレー

6はばね8の復元力に抗して磁気吸引力が強力に
働き、空隙G2がなくなり、摩擦板7とロツド2
との間に空隙を生じブレーキ作用が停止する。こ
れと同時にリニアモータ本体1とロツド2との相
対位置を変化させるべき推力を得て移動するに至
る。このブレーキの励磁コイル9への電力はリニ
アモータ本体1への電力を共用してもよく、また
リニアモータ本体への電力とは別に独立した電線
によつて供給するようにすることも可能である。
また励磁コイル9への励磁方式としては交流、直
流いずれでも全く同様の作用をもたらすものであ
る。次にブレーキ用励磁巻線9の励磁を解くと固
定鉄心5及び可動鉄心6間の磁気吸引力が消失
し、ばね8の復元力が両鉄心5,6間に動き、こ
れに伴つて可動鉄心6に取付けられている摩擦板
7がロツド2の外周に強力に圧接される。従つ
て、リニアモータ本体1がロツド2の一箇所にお

づいて得られるも一定時間継続してブレーキ作用
を維持できない欠点を除去し、任意の位置にてブ
レーキ保持力を有せしめる特長をリニアモータに
持たしめることができる。これによつて従来上下
動制御によりリニアモータ本体の自重を保持する
ブレーキ保持力乃至リニアモータ移動範囲におけ
るいくつかの中間点での正確なる位置決めが可能
