Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive holding metal fitting imparting no damage to a catalyst, by dividing a plane for clamping the catalysts of outer and inner metal fittings in a meandering line shape, and providing a catalyst to the plane part by inserting the same between both metal fittings in a state opposedly contacted therewith. CONSTITUTION:The plane part 11 of a holding metal fitting 10 made of a heat resistant stainless steel plate with a thickness of 0.3-0.5mm. is cut along a meandering line 12 to be divided into an outer metal fitting 13 and an inner metal fitting 14. A foldable fixing pawl 15 is provided to the outer metal fitting 13. The inner metal fitting and the outer metal fitting are assembled and fixed which the center of the inner metal fitting 14 is aligned by the leading end of the fixing pawl 15. A catalyst 1 is provided to the plane parts of the outer metal fitting 13 and the inner metal fitting 14 by inserting the same between both fittings in a state respectively contacted therewith opposedly.

触媒1を2枚の金属板2ではさみ、溶接等で固定したも
のや第2図((示すように、2枚の金属板3の機械的強
度を増した構造にしたものやさらに第3図〜第5図のよ
うに1〜2個の金属製保持金具4,5.らおよび7で固
定したもの等がある。しかし第1図および第2図に示す
保持金42.3の固定においてはクロス触媒1が絶縁物
質であるために生産性の良いスポット溶接を使えず、第
3図〜第5図のかしめ固定においては強く押えずぎると
クロス触媒1を押しつぶす危険性があり、作業性、生産
条件の管理に問題があった。また作業性の良い固定方法
としの複数箇所でスポット溶接していたOこのようVこ
第1図〜第5図の従来例も含めて第6図のものも保持金
