Radio telephones and the like tend to cover extremely wide frequency bands. However, if these antennas are arranged near the roof of a vehicle with a high ground clearance (good gain), it is undesirable not only from an aesthetic point of view but also from a driving performance point of view.

There are also reports that reception is possible even when the ring-shaped element is lifted horizontally from the ground plane by only about 0.007λ.

The in-vehicle composite antenna of the present invention has a MHz antenna facing the ground plane.
By arranging a hula hoop antenna that is used for more than just a belt, and covering it with a dielectric dome, and placing the ground plate electrically floating above the vehicle body, the distance between the ground plate and the vehicle body is increased. The antenna is characterized in that it is used as a KHz band capacitive antenna, which will be explained in detail below with reference to the illustrated embodiment.

FIG. 2 shows an example in which hula hoop antennas 1a to IC having different diameters are arranged concentrically facing a common ground plate 2, and these antennas are for FM, VHF-TV, and UHF-TV in order from the outside. 7a to 7C are their power supply cables, and C+

The performance of this antenna is better as the area of the ground plate 2 is wider and the height H from the main body 5 is higher, but the diameter of the ground plate 2 is 3
5 am is sufficient for H=5 cm or more. Therefore, since the height from the ground plane 2 is about 3 CI11, a multi-channel composite antenna including AM can be constructed with a height of about 8 cm. Incidentally, one end of the tuning circuit shown in FIG. 1 is connected to the antenna l through the center conductor of a tuning cable 4, and the other end is connected to the ground plane 2 through the outer conductor of the cable. Further, one end of the tuning circuit 8 is connected to the ground plate 2 through the outer conductor of the cable, and the other end is connected to the same potential as the main body 5. If one end of the tuning circuits 7 and 8 having different frequency bands is shared by the ground plane 2, consideration must be given to obtaining sufficient high frequency impedance corresponding to each frequency on the receiving circuit side.
