PURPOSE:To reduce the protrusion of reinforcing ribs to a passenger room without lowering the flexural rigidity of a center pillar, by providing bridging elements at both the front and rear ends of the cross section of the inner reinforcing element of the center pillar, and conjoining the bridging elements to edges at a working hole. CONSTITUTION:Bridging elements 11 are spot-welded at both the front and rear ends of the cross section of the inner reinforcing element 6A of a center piller 2, and arc-welded at the opposite ends of the bridging elements on reinforcing flanges 7 at the front and rear of the cross section of a seat belt retractor mounting hole 5 provided inside the inner portion 3 of the center pillar 2. ンナ3の下側部にはシートベルトリト2クタ配設用の作
業孔5t−開設し、この作業孔5よりセンターピラー2
下側の閉断面空間に図外のシートベルトリトラフ41を
格納配置し、該リトラクタに巻増られたシートベル)T
h前記作業孔5よシ引出すようにしている。また、ピラ
ーアラ414の上下ドアヒンジ増付師位には、該ピラー
アウタ4の内面形状に沿って断面路コ字形のレインフォ
ース6を接合してドアヒンジ増付強度を確保するように
している。前述の作業孔5の開口部周縁には内側に向け
て補強用フランジ7を曲折成形しである。ま丸このよう
にピラーインナ3の下側部に比較的開口面積の大きな作
業孔5を形成することによって、センターピラ−2基部
の剛性が損われてしまうため、wJs図に示すように作
業孔5の前後縁の補強用フランジ7と、ピラーインナ3
前後側壁との間に断面コ字形のレインフォース8を嵌合
して、継目部分をアーク溶朕により接合して補強するよ
うにしている。更に、ピラーインナ3にレインフォース
8を付設することと併せて、第4.5図示のようにピラ
ーインナ3の前後側部に単室側に向けて下方に至るに従
って突出高が高くなるように末広がり状に補強リブ9全
一体成形し、リプベース9At−フロアパネル10に接
合してセンターピラー2の車室側方向の倒れ剛性を高め
るようにしている。このようなセンターピラーの類似構
造は、例えば昭和55年11月日産自動車(株)発行ニ
ラサンローレル整備要領−1:第351頁に示されてい
る。
