However, if the housing opening is unavoidably tilted downward or installed vertically, the toner inside the housing may blow out from the small gap in the opening or condense and solidify at the edge of the blade. This is not preferable because it causes poor cleaning.

When the toner is conveyed to the storage chamber and the device is switched to non-operation, the blade member stops rotating at a position where it blocks the toner storage chamber.

) is formed, and the upper surface of this protrusion (7) extends continuously from the seal plate (11) from the opening (3) toward the toner storage chamber (5). The toner guide surface (8) is an arcuate shape that slopes downward. This guide surface (8) faces the protrusion (6) at a rotation angle of 180°, and is located at the same level as the rotation locus of the tips of the H-shaped blade members (15) and (16) or very slightly outside. . Therefore, the tip of the blade member <15L (16) contacts the guide surface (8) with a slight pressure, but moves inward through a slight gap. When one blade member (15), (1, 6) is in pressure contact with the protrusion (6), the other blade member (16)
faces the guide surface (8), and in this rotational position the toner storage chamber (5) is shielded from the outside via the opening (3).

meshes with a gear (23) fixed to the drive shaft (22). The drive shaft (22) receives rotational force from the same drive source as the photoreceptor drum (1), etc., and the gear (21) is rotated as shown by the arrow (b).
rotationally driven in the direction. A coil spring (24) is wound around the shaft (18), and one end (24a) of the coil spring (24) is connected to the gear (24).
1), and the other end (24b) is in contact with the protrusion (19) of the support member (17) from the direction of the arrow (l). Therefore, when the gear (21) rotates in the direction of arrow (b), the coil spring (24) tightens the shaft portion (18) and transmits the rotational force in the direction of arrow (b) to the support member (17).

, ) direction, the well-known steps of charging one image exposure, development, and transfer are executed, and the residual toner after transfer is scraped off by the cleaning blade (1 (1)), and the toner guide surface (8) At the same time as the copying operation, the gear (2
1) is also rotationally driven in the direction of arrow (1)), and first, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, the blade member (15) or (roller)
When the tip of the tip ((1, 5) in the figure) comes into pressure contact with the protrusion (6), the rotation of the support member (17) is restricted and the shaft (18) slides against the gear (21), so the gear does not move at the beginning of the pressure contact. (21)
The rotation of is stored as the spring force of the fill spring (24). When the spring force increases and the coil spring (24) sufficiently tightens the shaft (18), the gear (21) and the shaft (
18), the support member (17) rotates, and as shown in FIG. 3, the blade member (15) bends and the tip of the blade member (16) touches the toner guide surface (8). It moves in the direction of arrow (1), that is, inward, and conveys the toner that has fallen onto the toner guide surface (8) to the toner storage chamber (5).

At the end of the copying operation, the rotational driving force for the gear (21) is also cut off, and the operation of the cleaning device is also stopped.

Rotation stops when it is in pressure contact with. In other words, no matter when the operation is stopped, the blade member (15),

Furthermore, even when the opening (3) is turned downward after the cleaning device is removed from the copying machine together with the photoreceptor drum (1), etc., there is no problem of toner blowing out, and the toner is removed by the escaping part of the blade (10). It does not condense and solidify.

In order to stop rotation at this position, the toner storage chamber is reliably shielded by the blade member when the device is not in operation, preventing toner from scattering or blowing out from the rear of the housing, and condensing at the edge of the blade. It is also possible to prevent problems such as solidification.
