本発明は熱間圧延材の冷却方法および冷却装置に関する
ものであって詳細には良好な表面程度の要求せられるア
ルミニウム圧延材(アルミニウム合金を含む。以下同じ
)に適用して好適なものである。アルミニウム板材の品
質向上をはかるため・熱間圧延過程において圧延材を強
制冷却することはよく知られるところであシ、通例圧延
機出側においてテーブルロール上を走行するアルミニウ
ム圧延材を水冷する方式が採られ圧延材は圧延機に延設

ヘッダーから圧延材の上下面に放水される冷却水によシ
水冷されている。ところでアルミニウムは良好な表面程
度を要求されるためテーブルロールも上記する如く鼓形
とし、圧延材の側縁部がロールで支持されるようにして
いるが、圧延材の上下面を冷却すると比較的肉薄の圧延
材の場合には冷却時の熱応力と身重により圧延材が下そ
シの状態になシ、チーゾルロールと圧延材との接触位置
が圧延材の端部から段々と圧延材の幅方向内側へと移動
し1、テーブルロールと圧延材との速度差によシ圧延材
の製品部にキズを生じさせる不都合があシ、かかる不都
合は幅広材の場合や、冷却能力を高めることによって顕
著となるので生産性の向上を妨げる問題ともなっている

の要旨とするところは圧延材上面部を冷却するとともに
該冷却帯域におけるテーブルロールと圧延材の接触を軽
減させることを特徴とするものである。以下に本発明を
図面を参照して説明すると本発明において使用される冷
却装置としては特に限定されないが、冷却能良好なるも
のが好ましく、たとえに第2図に例示する冷却装置2の
ように中空ヘッダの隅角部にスリット3を設けて該スリ
ットから圧力水を噴射させるようにしたものが好適であ

シ圧廷材へのキズの発生は防止される。圧延材とテーブ
ルロールの接触を回避させるには水冷部位のテーブルロ
ールを上下動自在とすることも考えられるが、後記する
冥施例からも確められているように水冷部位のテーブル
ロールを小径之して圧延材との接触を軽減することで良

向であると冷却水が圧延材面に滞留する不都合があるの
