[Detailed explanation of the idea] The present invention relates to an improvement in the transparent window of a magnetic tape cassette.

As shown in Figure 1, a magnetic tape cassette for video tape has a window frame 2.3 formed on the surface of the case part 1, into which transparent window plates 4, 5 (Figure 2) are fitted. A label surface 6 is formed in the center.

As seen in FIG. 3, which shows a cross section taken along line AA in FIG. 1, the conventional transparent window plate 5 has flat upper and lower surfaces.

Briefly, the window plate for a magnetic tape cassette of the present invention includes a flat transparent plate that can fit into a window frame of a magnetic tape cassette, and an outer periphery flange integrally formed on the lower side of the outer periphery of the window plate. In the plate, the back surface of the transparent plate is characterized in that a concave portion is formed in a planar shape through a tapered surface formed at a position corresponding to the periphery of the transparent plate.

This provides the effect that essentially no scratches occur during operations such as stacking and moving the window panels during the manufacturing and assembly process of the cassette.

Referring to the drawings, FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the transparent window plate 7 of the present invention, which is an improved version of the window plates shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, taken through the same portion as in FIG.

The window plate 7 has a stepped outer peripheral flange 8 that fits into the window frame of the cassette.

The surface 9 is the front side, and when the window plate 7 is fitted into the window frame of the cassette, this surface 9 substantially coincides with the surface of the cassette, and its vertical edge 12 substantially coincides with the window frame.
