Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to cope with combinations of blocks by using two kinds of side plates, namely, smaller side plates and larger side plates, by a method wherein smaller side plates are provided for each block, are fitted simultaneously with plate fins to constitute an L-shaped heat exchanger, and then the assembly is fixed by comining with a larger side plate. CONSTITUTION:Pipes are enlarged in diameter from the side of smaller side plates, and plate fins 16 as well as each of the smaller side plates 19a, 19b, 19c and other side plate 17 are fitted. Then, for example, an upper heat exchanger 23 and a lower heat exchanger 24 are combinedly provided in an L shape, the larger side plate 26 having through-holes 27 slightly larger than the pipe diameter of hairpins 15 and capable of being adjusted to the positions of the hairpins is engaged with the hairpins 15, and the assembly is fixed by using screw- passing holes 28 of the plate 26 and female screws 25 provided on the side of each of the smaller side plates.
