この考案は、コック式またはボール弁式のサドル分水栓
を介して水道本管などに、上記分水栓の内径より比較的
小径の分岐孔を開穿するに当たり、その分岐孔が常に分
水栓の中心位置に穿孔できるようにした平錘型ドリルの

し、かくすることにより、加工上の手間や軸強度の低下
が見られない穿孔機用ドリルを提供しようとするもので

以上述べたように本案孔機のドリルは、たとえ小径のド
リルであってもその軸強度を低下させず、しかも穿孔時
の先振れを防止して、そののみ先を常に直立孔の中心上
に保持しつつ正確な位置に穿孔できるものであるから、
特に防錆スリーブを必要とする分岐管配設工事用のドリ
