A cylinder having a compression chamber concentric with the drive shaft formed on its inner periphery, a rolling piston that is driven by an eccentric portion of the drive shaft and rolls along the inner periphery of the cylinder, and a spring on the outer periphery of the rolling piston. In a multi-cylinder rotary compressor, a plurality of compression elements are arranged in the axial direction of a drive shaft via an intermediate partition plate, each having a plurality of compression elements each having a vane that is pressed by a compressor to divide the compression chamber into a high-pressure chamber and a low-pressure chamber.
