Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain easily a decorated pipe having uniform strength and uniform pattern, by providing previously a decorative pattern onto the surface of a metallic plate to be formed into a steel pipe by using rolls. CONSTITUTION:A metallic flat plate 11 is inserted between rotating rolls 12 to provide a decorative pattern onto the surface of the plate 11 by pressing the plate 11. Next, the decorated metallic plate 13 is fed to a metallic pipe manufacturing machine 14 to form it into a metallic pipe 15 by joining its both ends, and then the pipe 15 is cut into a prescribed length. Thus a decorated pipe having uniform strength and uniform pattern is obtained easily.

In the conventional manufacturing method for decorative pipes, as shown in FIG. Short metal tubes 5 were obtained by cutting, and then the surface of each of these metal tubes 5 was decorated one by one using means such as a press (not shown) or engraving. Conventionally, this method had the following drawbacks.

(1) First of all, when decoration is done by engraving, it goes without saying that each metal tube is carved by hand or machined, which takes a lot of time and cost, and is not suitable for mass production. On top of that,
When engraving, the surface of the metal tube is scraped off with a chisel, so the strength of the surface of the metal tube becomes uneven, and as a result, the strength of the metal tube becomes weaker. It has the disadvantage of being easily broken, and its use is limited. In the worst case scenario, a hole could be made in the metal tube due to a mistake during engraving. This method also has the disadvantage that it is difficult to obtain a uniform pattern.

(2) Another method is to use a press, but this method requires large-scale equipment, increases the cost of the entire mold, and takes time to press each piece.
Moreover, it was nearly impossible to press the metal tube.

In addition, since pressing is performed directly on the surface of the metal tube, complex patterns cannot be pressed, and if the thickness of the metal tube changes, etc., it is not possible to respond quickly to the change, and the entire decoration or mold must be changed. There was also the inconvenience of not being able to do without it.

In short, in the conventional method, decorations were applied to the surface of each metal tube after cutting, which caused technical difficulties and required a great deal of time, labor, and cost. Furthermore, it was difficult to obtain a uniform pattern, and it was not possible to decorate long metal tubes.

Next, the flow side of the present invention will be explained based on the drawings.
As shown in FIG. 2, a flat metal plate 11 is cut into a predetermined width, and a pattern 20 is applied to the surface of the metal plate 11 by a roll 12. As shown in FIG. In this case, unlike the conventional method of pressing a metal tube, the strength of the material is not weakened, and complex patterns can be easily and quickly applied without much effort.

Instead of a press, the roll 12 presses the metal plate 11 with two rotating rollers 12a and 12b to apply a pattern formed on the surface of one of the rollers 12a or 12b to the surface of the metal plate 11.

After that, this metal plate 13 is transferred to the metal tube manufacturing machine 1 which is the next process.
4, both ends of the metal plate 13 are joined and welded to form a single metal tube 15, which is then cut into a desired length by a cutting machine 16.

As described above, according to this embodiment, a long decorative pipe with stable strength can be easily obtained. Also, even if the diameter and wall thickness of the pipe are changed, the same roller 1 used for roll 12 during the process
2a and 12b, it is possible to easily produce decorative pipes with different diameters and wall thicknesses.
