[Detailed description of the invention] The present invention is an improvement of a fuel filler cap device for an internal combustion engine mounted on an agricultural machine, and in particular, a part of the bonnet that covers the top surface of the fuel tank is replaced with a space formed on the bottom surface of the fuel filler cap. When inserted, it creates a labyrinth-like drip-proof structure that prevents muddy water from entering the bonnet from the fuel filler cap attachment part.
This invention relates to a device that protects fuel tanks from damage and leakage caused by rust.

Internal combustion engines, especially horizontal internal combustion engines used in agricultural work, etc., differ from those used in passenger cars, in that they cannot handle soil, grain, straw, plants, etc.
Since this work is carried out under adverse conditions such as being covered with muddy water when cultivating rice fields, the bonnet surrounding the engine etc. is completely sealed to prevent foreign substances from entering the bonnet. However, as shown in FIG. 1, the conventional fuel tank 1 for an internal combustion engine is fixed by means such as welding the upper part 4 to a reinforcing arm 3 that protrudes from the engine 2, and the upper part 4 is fixed by means such as seam welding. A concave part 6 is provided near the center of the upper body 5, which is an integrated top cover, by means of the method described above.
A cylindrical fuel filler port 9 is fixedly bent inward, a fuel strainer 10 is attached to the fuel filler port 9 via a funnel-shaped body 11, and a gasket 12 is attached to the upper end 8 of the fuel filler port 9. The fuel filler cap 13 placed through the boss portion 14

It is mounted in pressure contact with the upper end 8 of the fuel filler port 9 by the elastic force caused by the deflection of the leaf spring 16.

Further, the bonnet 20 that covers the fuel tank 1 and the cooling water tank 19 has an insertion hole 21 in the upper part for inserting the fuel filler port 9, so that the bonnet 20 can be removed for maintenance of the engine or in the event of a failure. The insertion hole 21 of the bonnet 20 and the fuel filler port 9 need to be separate bodies, so it is common to provide a gap 22 between the insertion hole 21 and the fuel filler port 9. etc. are used under the harsh conditions mentioned above, so rainwater, muddy water, dust, etc. can enter through the gap 22, and the top surface of the fuel tank can get dirty, and water can get into the fuel tank made of iron plate. It causes rust on internal combustion engines and other accessories, and accelerates the deterioration and aging of electrical components.

This type of water intrusion also occurs when cleaning the aircraft body, and it is also possible to install rubber, etc. in the gaps to prevent water from entering, but in this case, not only will it increase costs, but the rubber Due to deterioration of the building, water will once again enter the building.

The present invention focuses on problems such as corrosion of the fuel tank due to muddy water entering from the fuel filler cap attachment part of conventional internal combustion engines installed in agricultural operations, and the present invention has been developed by forming a part of the bonnet on the underside of the fuel filler cap. It is inserted into a space and forms a labyrinth-like drip-proof structure to prevent the intrusion of muddy water, etc., thereby solving the above problem. While forming a bent portion that stands upward, the shape of the fuel filler cap is such that when the cap is attached to the fuel filler port, its outer peripheral edge covers the bent portion of the bonnet in a canopy shape. and an inner space into which the bent portion of the bonnet is inserted is defined inwardly on the lower surface of the outer peripheral edge.
