Abstract

PURPOSE:To train mounting and dismounting of a tyre chain by means of an unfixed tyre model and a chain model. CONSTITUTION:A wheel model is not touching the ground and capable of being removed from an axle 5. A chain model a-a' is secured to a tyre at its upper face 1-1'. The both ends (b')-(c') are joined at the inner side of the tyre and the chain is spread over the entire circumference of the tyre from the inner side and finally, other ends (b)-(c) are joined at the outer lower end 3 thereof to complete the mounting. The mounting technique of the tyre chain may be acquired by repeated training with those models.

Next, let's talk about the structure, usage, and effects of this model. Although this machine is a model, the exact same operations can be performed with full-size tires, wheels, axles, chains, etc., so the word "model" will be omitted in some parts of the explanation below.

This involves tying the back or front end of the fake chain, spreading the chain model over the tire model, and tying the other side to attach the wheel. In actual applications, it is extremely troublesome to lift the wheels and remove them.

Since it is in contact with the ground at -3°, there is no rotation of the wheels. This method is so simple that it can be applied to actually attaching and detaching tires and chains by simply attaching a string to ■. In actual application, sliding accessories will of course not be used, but the idea of attaching a string to ■ is useful. When you take it off, do exactly the opposite of when you put it on. That is, remove the joints 0 and 0 on the front side of 1, place the chain model onto the axle on the back side, and remove the joints O' and O' on the back side on the outside of tire model 2 or 4.
