In a heat pump-type refrigeration cycle that can be switched between cooling operation and heating operation, an electric expansion valve whose opening degree changes depending on the applied voltage is provided to control the refrigerant during heating operation of the refrigeration cycle. An air conditioner characterized in that the voltage applied to the valve is controlled by detecting the refrigerant discharge temperature of the compressor and the degree of superheat of the refrigerant.
