Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a detection when a battery comes to have a final discharge voltage by making a first constant reference voltage from the battery, and producing an alarm by comparing the first reference voltage with a second reference voltage which is proportional to the voltage of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A resistor 3 and a constant-voltage diode 4 are connected between the positive electrode and the negative electrode of a battery 1 through a switch 2 so as to make a first constant reference voltage. Resistors 5 and 6 are connected in a similar manner as above so as to make a second reference voltage which is proportional to the voltage of the battery 1. The first and the second voltages are compared by a comparing circuit 7, and an alarm circuit 8 operates and produces a warning when the second reference voltage becomes lower than the first reference voltage. Therefore, whether the battery 1 becomes unusable due to over discharge or not can be detected as soon as electric power is supplied from the battery 1 to a lead 9. Consequently, the handling of the battery 1, such as charging, exchange or the like, can be facilitated.

This type of over-discharge warning device has not been used in conventional devices using batteries. For this reason, it is not known that the battery has reached the end of its useful life, so devices that use dry batteries may become unusable during use, and devices that use multiple storage batteries may experience backlight damage. However, the purpose of this invention is to prevent the battery from reaching its final discharge voltage (
・There is a battery over-discharge alarm system-2 that will alert you to this.

A resistor 3 and a constant voltage diode 4 are connected via a switch 2 between the anode and the cathode of t1 to the magnet r to create a constant reference voltage m. Similarly, resistor 5 and resistor 6 are connected to create a reference voltage (2) proportional to the voltage of battery l. These reference voltages (1) and (2) are input to the voltage comparison circuit 7. This voltage comparison circuit 7 compares the reference voltage t1+ and the reference voltage (2) to determine which voltage is higher.

This output voltage is sent to the alarm circuit 8. The alarm circuit generates a flashing light emitting diode, an intermittent sound, or both at the same time when the reference voltage (2) from the voltage comparison circuit 7 is lower than the reference voltage (1). As a result, this alarm is generated when switch 2 is turned on, so power is supplied from battery 1 to load 9 via switch 2, and at the same time it is known whether battery 1 is ready for use or not, so dry batteries are used. If it is a device that uses a storage battery, you can know when the battery 1 needs to be replaced, and if it is a device that uses a storage battery, you can know when the storage battery needs to be charged.
