実用新案登録請求の範囲を次のように補正する。
O実用新案登録請求の範囲
(1)透光性板体に挿入孔を設け、この挿入孔に光源を
埋設し、この光源から発生して上記透光性板体内を伝搬
する光を拡散させて透光性板体外へ導出する光拡散処理
面をこの透光性板体に形成し、この光拡散処理面の面域
とその近傍を照明面とする面光源装置において、上記光
源と透光性板体の縁端面とを結ぶ線分が上記光拡散処理
面の面域を横切らないような縁端面部位ではこの縁端面
部位における法線と上記線分とのなす角が透光性板体の
材料の光全反射臨界角以上であるような形状の縁端面を
透過性板体に形成、 することを特徴とする面光源装
置。
(2)透光性板体の光全反射臨界角と等しいかもしくは
それより大きく直角より小さい一定の角度をθiとし、
光源の位置を原点として原点からの距離をγ、基準線に
対する位相角をθとする極座標で表わしたとき透光性板
体の法線方向の投影図形の少なくとも一部が、γcxo
xp(θ・tanθi)で表わされる対数螺線の一部で
あるかもしくは上記対数螺線に近い滑らかな曲線である
ことを特徴とする実用新案登録請求の範囲第1項記載の
