Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a copy from being stained owing to the sticking of opposite-polarity toner to the non-image part of a photoreceptor by removing the opposite-polarity toner from a developer by use of equipment installed in an electrophotographic copying machine. CONSTITUTION:In normal copy mode, a charging corotron 2, exposing machine 3, developing machine 4, transferring machine 5, discharging corotron 6, cleaning machine 7, etc., operate under control based upon a copying process. In non-copy mode, e.g. warm-up operation, a photoreceptor 1 is raced and the discharging corotron 6 is turned on to charge the photoreceptor surface to the opposite polarity to the charging corotron 2. At this time, none of form feeding, the charging corotron 2, a discharging lamp 8, and the transfer corotron 5 operate and image exposure is not carried out, but the developing machine 4 and cleaning machine 7 are driven. At this time, opposite-polarity toner in a developer sticks to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 charged by the discharging corotron 6 and is removed by the blade 7a of the cleaning machine 7.

During normal copying, the operation of each device is controlled based on the copying process, and as shown in FIG. A charge image A is formed, and a positive polarity toner (θ toner) is attached by the developing roll 14 of the IJ4GlI machine 4 to become toner C, which is transferred to the paper by the transfer machine 5.

In addition, as shown in FIG. 4, the charging corotron 2 and the static eliminating corotron 6 are connected to the
3t, 122, and e polarity power supply 13R112s so that it can be connected and controlled, and at the same time as the main power switch is turned on during warm-up, switch 20. When connected to 122 and 4
Then, the photoconductor sound is idled, and the developing device 4 and cleaning device 7 are operated without operating the static elimination lamp 8 and transfer corotron 5.

As a result, the surface of the photoreceptor is charged with O polarity (that is, the opposite polarity to double zero) K, and this charge is developed with opposite polarity toner 2 by the developing roll +4, and the opposite polarity toner image H is transferred to the charge eliminating corotron 6. Engineering is 0′! The photoreceptor is charged with a K charge (polarity opposite to the polarity of the photoreceptor) and is easily separated from the surface of the photoreceptor, and is cleaned by the blade 7 of the cleaner 7.
