Abstract

PURPOSE: To duplicate both surfaces of the disk record simultaneously by use of an ultraviolet ray setting resin and by making master disks from a transparent material.
CONSTITUTION: A convex and concave section 2 is formed on the surface of a glass substrate 1 by use of a photoresist to thereby produce a basic disk A. Next, a light transmissive parting layer 3 is formed on the surface of the disk A by depositing Al on that surface up to a thickness of 500Å. Further, a resin layer 4 is formed on the surface of the parting layer 3 by coating the ultraviolet ray setting resin on that surface, a transparent acrylic resin plate 5 is fixed to the surface of the surface of the resin layer 4 and ultraviolet rays are applied on the combined layers through the glass substrate 1 so that the resin layer 4 is solidified from the projected and indented sides. After the above processes, the acrylic resin plate 5 is exfoliated to produce the transparent master disk B having its information recording surface formed by the ultraviolet ray setting resin layer 4. Thus, it is possible to form record surfaces on both sides of the disk record C simultaneously by using two of the above mentioned master disks B and B'.
