Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the rate of cooling of metal fast and simultaneously controllable by immersing the metal of high temp. into liquid which is held flowed and stirred by the gas blown from the bottom part of the liquid. CONSTITUTION:When water or hot water is put into a liquid tank 2, and compressed air is blown through an injection pipe 8, the air blows out into water 1 through the fine pores 3 of a floor board 4, and the water 1 gets in a vigorous flowing and stirring state. When metal of high temp. is immersed into this water 1, the metal is quickly cooled. At this time, the rate of blowing out of the air is regulated by regulating the pressure of the air by a valve 6, by which the rate of cooling of the metal is controlled and desired heat treatment is applied.
