Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the performance of a titled Cu alloy over a long period of time by using a specific composition Cu alloy contg. Cr and a small amt. of Zr.
CONSTITUTION: This Cu alloy for welding electrodes and soldering iron tips having superior molten metal corrosion resistance has the composition contg. 1.5W 17.0% Cr, 0.03W1.2% Zr, by weight, and further, if necessary, 0.005W0.25% P and the balance consisting of Cu and unavoidable impurities. This alloy has high strength and high conductivity and is also highly resistant to heat and molten metal corrosion in particular, and therefore when it is used as a welding electrode and a soldering iron tip, it exhibits performance stable over a long period of time.
